  • BG Account Numbers and Suffix Codes

Beginning in November 2010, I started using the 12 month priority booking for the weeks/points that I own. My main purpose in doing this was to provide me with assured means of seeing exactly what I have purchased. Well yesterday during the making of two reservations, I was made aware of something that I would like to know more about. I was told yesterday, that the suffix code “S” on an account number meant that the unit could only be rented Saturday to Saturday. For example one of my account numbers is 01/2607S, with the 01 being the week number and 2607 being the unit number. Since I have a number of accounts, some with suffixes, I asked if all of the suffixes had being, the person told me some do and some don’t. I then asked if she could tell me which ones had meaning; she stated that she would have to look them up. During this conversation, she did not answer the conversation. This got me to thinking.

I have accounts that have the letter Y, L, M, A, and B, in addition to S. I know that A and B refer to lock off units such as 43/1231A and 43/1231B and I suspect that there are units that include a suffix of C. All of accounts are in Trust Fund E.

I would like to know if suffix Y, L, or M have meaning? I would like to know if any other suffixes that I am currently unaware of have meaning. I seem to remember someone referring to “X” and “Z”? I have not searched the files for answer to these questions, but intend to do so today. This leads me to my final question/thought, if Blue Green can sell a week that begins on Saturday and ends on Saturday, can Blue Green sell the same week beginning and ending on Friday and beginning and ending on Sunday? In other words, Blue Green selling the same week three times.

    Thank you for your response.

It's almost random. Sometimes it means a lock off unit, sometimes it means a resort, sometimes it means a partial week and there are others. You cannot reliably go by those letter designations for anything.

It is true that all units have a designated check in day of the week. You need to call to find out what that unit has as its check in day.

      Thanks Jim:

You are spot on. After posting, which I should never do until I have done a little research. I did learn that the suffix is not meaningful, except probably to the specific resort. I also learned that there is a specific day assigned to each week for check-in. Blue Green was kind enough to provide this for my accounts.

      Again thanks for your response.
