  • "Borrowed, Annual, Saved" points - help me understand why I don't have any "annual"

I am a realatively new owner purchasing in June 2010.

    My anniversary date is 7/1.....

So in August 2010, I prepaid my maint. fee (due 11/11/10) and "borrowed" my points.

All my points were in my account under 'borrowed' with an expiration of 6/30/12.

On 7/1/11, will these points be changed to "annual"? And on 7/1/12 saved?

And when I pay my maint fee in November 2011 and borrow my points, will these be borrowed until 6/30/12?

And on 7/1/12 become 'annual'? And 7/1/13 saved?

I think I get it, but am not entirely sure...It seems if you borrow, you have almost two years of usage (depending on pre-pay date) as 'regular/full power/unrestricted' points and a year of saved/red-white-blue usage.....TIA

        Point Status

        Pat,

Yes is the answer to all 5 of your questions. Your assumption about being able to get 2 years use in any season (borrowed and annual) and one year in red or lower (saved) for your points is also correct.

I recommend that you keep up with your points in a log book or spreadsheet. BG does have glitches in their system that can negatively affect annual or borrowed points. The BG website does not keep your cancelled reservations listed. Your personal reservation file can help you avoid any issues.

I am not 100% sure that the online report we get will show them changed from "borrowed" to "annual". I seem to recall that some of mine stayed as "borrowed" but I am sure that BG knows when they are "annual". On July 1, tell us what happens in your account.

            Borrowed Points

My borrowed points usually remain as borrowed even after the anniversy date, but you can always differentiate them based on expiration date. A log book or spreadsheet is a good idea and that way you can follow the transactions.

Thank you all for the suggestion of keepng everything written down.
I have some points now that are showing as "saved" that I need to call to get changed backed to borrowed/annual.

Good point that it might not change to annual but I will know this based on the date.

              Thanks all who answered.

Yes, I answered here http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...t-problem.html and on the Yahoo group - althought it took two calls as it was changed and then changed to something else! I was able to call back and everything is how it should be.

I will start to keep an excel program so I know exactly where they all belong....it is a full time job
