  • Falls Village in Branson

We have our first trip using our sampler points booked for March 12-March 16 at the Falls Village in Branson. I have some questions that I thought maybe some of you on this forum could answer.
We are booked in a 1 bedroom unit. What is this unit like? Do all of the units have balconies?
Are there any extra fees for amenities on the resort like the mini-golf course?
I have heard on other website reviews that the indoor pool is cold. Is this true?
Since this is our first trip using our sampler points we will have to attend the dreaded saled pitch with 2 children in tow. How do they handle this time when small children are tagging along? Maybe that will get us out of there more quickly.
Does anyone know where to get the best ticket prices for the Dixie Stampede show?
What is the weather like at this time (March 12-16) in the Branson area?
Anything else we should know about this resort?
We are looking forward to our trip. Thanks in advance for your help!

I can't answer the specifics, other than it is a nice resort, a typical Branson resort.

My buddy is a foreman with the company that built it (hope is keeps standing til you leave, at least).

You miss Silver Dollar City by one day.

    Here's a Showfinder attraction schedule:

Great Deals on Branson Shows and Hotels - Branson on the Web

The only DS discounts I know of are for locals (Area Appreciation).

    Branson MO's Biggest Messageboard -

    index

Can't predict the weather this far ahead. Somewhere between cold and warm, dry and wet, sunny and cloudy. Stuff is starting to bloom by then. The fairways may be greening up.

I haven't stayed at FV but I don't believe there are extra fees. I say that because we stayed at a nearby resort on an RCI exchange and we would walk over to FV and use the mini golf as a day use feature and no one asked us for money. However, we travel with our own clubs so we did not go in and ask for clubs. Christmas Mountain (Wisconsin) and Pono Kai (Hawaii) both BG resorts and both with mini golf do not charge to use their mini golf courses.

When we were dealing with a salesperson at CMV, they had a little room with someone to watch the kids where they could color or play video games or watch a movie or whatever. I would guess they have roughly the same set-up at Falls Village.

If you don't want to buy, then I recommend you figure out a strategy before you go and stick to it. Although the fact that you bought a Sampler in the first place probably means you're not pushovers. Unless things have changed since they require you to come in again with a Sampler, they don't suggest the Sampler unless they're pretty sure they won't make a regular sale.

We've had good luck when they try to get us in to sign up for a sales pitch with saying we are quite satisfied renting points from other owners for now; don't know how that'd work with a salesperson but I think it's more about insisting you're happy with your current situation and refusing to show interest in buying anything else than what argument you choose.

I've not heard about any extra fees for amenities at Falls Village, and I do keep a list of that sort of thing. Generally with BG resorts mini golf is free but you have to pay for regular golf.

You might find more information signing on with the BG Yahoo group -- there's a lady who posts both here and there who could probably answer all your questions but I think she's more likely to be checking posts there than here.

Hope you have a great time.

Thanks for the replies! I appreciate your thoughts on the sales pitch. When we were in Vegas at Club 36, we encountered the sales pitch for the first time--we were at their pitch for nearly 4 hours thru lunch hour and were starving and tired. We just wanted to get outta there or we probably would not have even purchased the sampler package. We know what to expect and are prepared to give a very firm NO THANK YOU! I do think we will get our moneys worth out of the sampler package and it has forced us to take a couple of trips that we probably would not have taken otherwise--we didn't want to waste the money we've already spent. I think my kids will really have fun at Falls Village and we have a trip planned to Big Cedar Lodge in May--I'm not sure how we were lucky enough to get in there, but somehow we did. Anybody have any ideas on how to get the best value at Dixie Stampede??
          Thanks again,
          Michelle

There are no additional charges at Falls Village for BG Owner reservations.

            Only this:

Deposit required: Upon check-in, owners/guests must present a major credit card or provide $100 cash or check for incidentals. Deposit is refundable and applies to each reservation.

Take the kids to the presentation and if you can't get out in a timely manner, PINCH ONE. JK

When you do a sales presentation after buying the sample it there a gift?

If there is try to do your presentation early in your stay and ask for Dixie Stampede tickets...

Otherwise see if Dixie Stampede has a preferred customer on their website.

You are going in a lower season, so maybe they are offering discounts.

I'm thinking during the sales pitch I will encourage my kids to be unruly. Maybe they will want to get rid of us sooner! I was wondering if there might be some freebies when attending the sales pitch. That would be great if there were. I'm not counting on it, though. I did sign up for the Dixie Stampede newsletter--maybe I will get some discounts thru that. Thanks again to all of you helpful people!

Most resort have a website with pictures of the rooms and resort. They usually have a description of the room amenities.

We've stayed there a couple of times. Very nice resort.

Weather in March can be iffy. It can be warm and sunny or rainy and cold. We tend to go the last week of April at the earliest but, March can be nice. Hopefully you'll hit a great patch of weather while you're there.

All units 1 bedroom and larger have balconies or patio's.

I didn't find the indoor pool particularly cold when I checked the water. I've never actually swam in it, just dipped my foot into it.

The easiest way to get out of the salespitch on time is to look at your watch at the start of the interview, then when you time is up (either 90 or 120 minutes in most cases), stand up and tell them you're leaving. We've done their tour twice. The second time it was supposed to be GrandVista but, they substituted FV instead (I wasn't happy about that). They were one of the rudest tours we've taken but, that was several years ago. Most rely in insult at some point to attempt to make a sale but these guys were pro's at the insult game. That didn't impress me, or make me want to by, one bit.

No charge to use the facility's for owners or exchangers. There were arcade machines that were coin operated. I believe they rent movies for a fee as well. Mini Golf, pools, hot tubs, horse shoe pits et....are fee free.

Over all it's a nice resort. It's one we'd consider if we were exchanging into Branson. We've always been put into one of the older units but, we've always been exchangers into this resort. A friend of ours had purchased a travel package that included the tour and they were put into one of the newer units. The sales pitch didn't bother him but, he had no trouble telling a salesman were to get off.

Click the photo to go to our photo album of our last stay at FV in 2005 (time sure can fly, didn't seem like it was that long ago)

                      list

Dixie Stampede is not on the list.

Every Dixie Stampede Coupon or Discount site google takes you to defers to Pidgeon Forge.

The only thing on the Branson Dixie Stampede site is combo tickets for Titanic or Ride the Ducks.

Now, if you get get a local job, and show them a current pay stub . . .

We took MIL at Christmas. We invited 6 other extended family members, our treat, and they declined. Well, actually, accepted and then declined a couple hours before showtime.

I'm pretty sure that SDC season pass holders receive a discount to Dixie Stampede but, if SDC isn't even open, it's a moot point.

SDC season pass holders get $5 off, which is minimal. That's regardless of whether it's open or not. Dixie Stampede does not believe in passing out great discounts. If you know someone that works there or works at SDC they can get you in for $15 a person.

I guess what I was getting at is, it's not a good idea to spend around $75 on season passes to an amuesment park that's not open, just to get a $5 discount.

The SDC discount is the only one I'm aware of for non-locals or for those of use who don't happen to know an employee. Like you said, they don't do discounts. They don't have to. The attraction is priced right and the show is good enough they don't have to offer discounts.
