  • Newbie here

Hello everyone Im new to the site and would like to thank everyone for the info here.I just came home with the family from The fountains in Fl. where we became members and I'm hoping I made a wish choice in my buy. The offer sounded really good and since my wife and myself are in the military that we can get a better deal. This is what we walked away with ...6000 odd vacation points, Charter membership, RCI membership,Enhanced/traveler plus membership, 2 weeks free at RCI for the next three years, and 4,000 Bluegreen points to use. I don't know if it matters but our deed is you Grade Villas at World Golf Village. This all cost us 7,900.00 and with taxes and closing cost for a total of 8,272.99.

    Was this a good buy.

    Thanks

Here is what I will contribute..

1 Welcome to Bluegreen Vacation Club
2 Thank you for your service
3 The question of "good deal" is very subjective. All the items you got with RCI, Travelers Plus, 4000 points at your first anniversary are things that everyone that buys from Bluegreen get. You got 6000 every other year (EOY) points, which is similar to 3000 annual points, and spent more than $2.50 per equivalent annual point. Could you have paid less? Probably, much like buying a new car from a new car dealer is more expensive than pre-owned. Was it a good deal? If you use what you bought the best you can and get maximum usage, I think that could be defined as a good deal. If you don't use it, it is a bad deal regardless of how much or little you paid.

You would be cost effective to rescind. You will find there are much less costly ways to own BG, and have more points without that price tag.

If you do want to own BG, and I have been an owner since 2002, then there are ways to get in and have a much better deal.

I would look for BocaBum somewhere in this group. Send him a private message. He is a good contact for all Bluegreen related purchases and questions.

          Argh ignore the last guy!

          Bluegreen is great.

You paid too much. Cancel. Research. Then buy resaleif you still think Bluegreen works for you.

And like sound hq said, thanks to you andyour wife for your military service.

            Another vote for rescind.

You can get that many points EVERY year for about $7,500 less including closing costs from E-Bay...
No matter where you go.....there you are...

                    Not you vintner!

When I posted that, there was some spam posting just before mine. I swear I don't remember anymore what it was but since the OP was a newbie I wasn't sure she'd know to ignore it.
