Has anyone been to the new resort that Bluegreen is now managing - Sandhurst at Hutchinson Island? It seems to get good reviews from Trip Advisor but was curious if any Bluegreen owners had been there on points or bonus time?
I know it is a hotel property, but I assume Bluegreen owners would still not pay anything other than the $5 daily resort fee if they use points? In other words, owners wouldn't have to pay taxes like they would at a regular hotel, and like you would if you were to book to stay through the resort.
Also, we are thinking of donating enough of our points to cover a two night stay there to a charity auction we are having at work. The points value is pretty good since it is a hotel room instead of a larger unit - 1200 for the weekend. As long as we put the name of the person who bids on the item on the reservation, and they put their credit card down at check in, I assume we would not be liable for any damages, incidentals, etc.? We have not given our unit to anyone other than close family and friends in the past, so wanted to make sure this is the case. I assume this is what people do when they rent their units. Should I warn them about the possible sales pitch, or is there no sales office since this is a hotel and not a full timeshare?
Thanks, any information would be appreciated.
