  • Looking for March 2012 BG resort suggestions.

DW has her spring break Mid March and we are looking for suggestions for a Bluegreen resort for the 2012 vacation. We have gone south east for our past trips.
    We have done:
ShoreCrest, N. Myrtle Beach, 3 times
GRANDE VILLAS AT WORLD GOLF VILLAGE, St. Augustine
    The Fountains, Orlando 2 times.

Driving in March doesn't work well because of the time and snow issue so someplace warm where we would fly into that hopefully won't cost a lot. Although I don't know if any where would be less costly to fly into the way prices are going.

    Any suggestions?

One that is out is BC. DW is figuring a driving trip to Wilderness club at Big Cedar (our 3rd trip) summer 2012.

    Marathon

How about The Hammocks in Marathon. Not too far from Key West and the weather is not too bad that time of year.

Shenandoah Crossings is a low cost resort. The weather there can be nice that time of the year, perhaps windy.

How about the Southwest Gulf properties.
Windward Passage has a nice location on Ft. Myers beach.

La Pension is reopening in February 2012; go see how nice it is and bring back a report!

My pick would be Solara Surfside Miami for 4-5 nights and a trip to the Keys - Hammocks at Marathon for 3-4 nights - get a real South Florida/Tropical feel.
Nice to combine a city/beach/off the beaten path kinda trip.
Fly in and out of Miami and rent a car to drive to the keys.

I believe it's an affiliate. I've seen it in the points charts.
                Way cheaper than Solara.

Looks like 7000 pts for a 1 bedroom and 9000 pts for a 2 bedroom but for a week.
I don't think you can book nightly.

Surfrider Beach club on Sanibel for 7000 points for a week looks like a good deal too and Sanibel is real nice.

I don't need points cheap...I have way too many points for what I can use.
Our airfare to Orlando for the 2011 trip cost $434 ea. That is way up from a couple years ago.

Miami airport is 17 miles from Solara and Fort Lauderdale FLL is 17 - so u have two options for flying.

Chris, the affiliate resorts many times do not have much inventory in the very high season so March probably would not be doable,

Vintner, those two bedroom oceanfront units at Solara are REALLY nice

Why not one of the Shell properties thru Select? Legacy in Phoenix is very popular or Starr Pass in Tucson (or both) and it will be warm.

There is also Salado Creek in San Antonio.
