  • Shorecrest I Fixed week question

    I am in the process of acquiring ownership of a Shorecrest I, fixed week 27 with first usage in 2012. I am also a Bluegreen points owner having stayed at this resort many times. My family loves the resort so I was excited to have the opportunity to get a fixed week that works with the kids school calendar and it is within easy driving distance of our home.

    Having said that, I am not exactly sure how the fixed week process at this resort works. Are reservations still made through Bluegreen or does this operate through another entity (HOA, etc.)? Depending upon how you go about reserving your week, how far in advance are you allowed to do so? Finally, if I were unable to use the week one year and wanted to deposit with RCI directly, is this possible (understanding that Bluegreen now has a direct portal with RCI tied to member points)?

    Any information that anyone can share is very much appreciated.

      Thanks. I purchased the week for $175 (plus $300 closing and transfer costs) so I was very happy to get this opportunity. Now just to figure out how things work

        You might also check on the bluegreen yahoo group for information. Not sure if anyone there owns fixed weeks at Shorecrest but I know I've read about that at other resorts.

            If it is a "fixed" week, meaning same week each year, that is YOUR week to use automatically. You can call the 800 number or the resort and ask how they handle it. If you bank it for trade the trading company will verify the week with BG and BG will know it's been banked.

            I have a flex week at Sunshine Resort as well as points. Both the points and the Sunshine week show on the BG website. I can pay maint fees for both on the website. But I cannot reserve the Sunshine week online (it floats all year), I call the main BG 800 number to do that.

            I have a fixed week at another resort and the mgmt company for it does actually make reservations for it. They set up reservations to me for several years out. I don't have to make any reservations. A few weeks before my check in day I get a packet in the mail about the reservation.
