    We recently returned from the Fountains. At the Owner Update, the gal and my husband really did not get along. Of course, we got the you don't own enough, you can't do anything with what you have; you don't have the traveler's extra program, etc.....

    She also said we were no longer RCI members because we are not members of the (I think it is called) Travelers Plus program. When we bought a few years ago at the Mountain Loft, we were under the understanding it was suppose to be a lifetime membership with RCI.

    She also said that BG would not take our deed back and that we were not allowed to sale it to anyone but BG?

    Does anyone know about these items?

    Just a thought: Why are they called Owner Updates? Shouldn't they be called High Pressure Sales Pitch Meetings?

    Your RCI membership is paid for out of your yearly club dues, so I doubt that Traveler's Plus has any impact on it. I suspect there'd be a riot if BG took RCI privileges away from everyone who didn't have Traveler's Plus, because it'd effectively be doubling the cost of a BG/RCI membership. Plus a lot of people aren't thrilled with RCI anyhow and would simply turn to another system, which would not thrill RCI. Why would Bluegreen work out this elaborate new points system with RCI just to turn around and slap RCI like that?

    BG technically has first rights to buy back your points, but I've never heard of them exercising it and if they did they'd be meeting market price anyhow.

      Hmm, is this my wife writing this? We just got back two weeks ago and this was pretty much the experience that we had. Was the sales gal named Natasha? Probably not, she was so green, she didn't have any idea what was going on.

      They won't take it back, they won't buy it back and you can sell it or give it away to anyone you want. In my opinion, if they did buy it back, that would reduce the flood of inventory on the market and make the points more valuable.

      Very good question. I never get updated. I get insulted. They make my wife so mad that we are not going back. I broke down at the Fountains and went to the meeting since it had been a couple years since my last abuse fest. I tell them how many points I have and they argue with me. I tell them I am gold, they tell me I am not. They tell me some of my accounts are not correct and checking with resort title, they are all fine. Never believe sales.

          Wow, we've been to two BG sales presentations as non-owners and had the same experience. Insulted everything we owned. Told us it wasn't 5 star with Interval and that they were dumps that would never get good exchanges or exchange into a BG resort. Who'd have thought they'd treat their own owners in the same manner. BG's lie fest was second only to Consolidated's presentation and, Consolidated filed bankruptcy a couple of years ago.

            Don't let the sales people sway how you feel about your bg ownership. If you are on this site, odds are you know more than the sales person. we do our occasional owner update and occasionally get what is being discussed here, but lately our sales reps have bench more cordial than they used to be...maybe this word is getting back. I don't know, but I'm ready for another trip to a bg resort!

              Funny they would say that you CAN'T belong to RCI anymore

              I have tried to NOT pay for RCI with my BG Vac Club dues, and you cannot opt out.

              I pay for RCI twice now, once through BG, and once through RCI points at a different resort. I don't want the RCI weeks membership, but there is no way out.

              Maybe bring this up at the next "update"

                They'll just tell another lie and say that the BG membership doesn't cover the RCI membership fee anymore. They're to slick for that comeback.
