  • I almost bought from South Carolina trip

But I did buy a 2 year sampler.
I am very happy about the purchase but I KNOW I want to be an owner.

My problem is I dont want to lose ANY benefits YET mainly because I dont know what the benefits are.

If I do buy from a reseller (bocabum?) what will I lose?

All I want to do is make the best choice for my family.

I have been reading and I will continue reading... even though alot of it I dont understand yet.

Any info to good links for me to read to help understand the whole process would be appreciated.

Any info or tips to help me make the right decisions would be appreciated.

ok i just came up with another question.

from what i understand BG is not like your typical timeshare... because you dont buy a specific week at a specific resort... is this true?

Yes, it is a points based system. There are other points based systems: Wyndham, Disney, Hilton and Hyatt are a few. Certainly there are many more weeks based resorts.

        Good for you!

It is good you didn't buy yet. There will always be the chance to go back and buy from the developer later if you feel there is some reason to. In the meantime, the sampler is a great way to get the experience of using the Bluegreen system.

We started with the sampler 4 years ago and are now Platinum Bluegreen owners. All of our points were purchased resale through Jim (BocaBum) but it was before several rule changes so the deals have changed. What hasn't changed is that he's very knowledgeable about Bluegreen and is an honest guy.

Take some time, figure out what benefits you think you'll want/need, and work with him to figure out how to purchase it.

The simple version is this: you buy a certain number of points. Each year, you pay maintenance fees on that number of points, and you can use that number of points. You don't have to stay a full week or at a certain resort. With Bluegreen, your deeded resort matters very little. Owners who have more qualified points can get on a waiting list before 11 months so they have some booking priority, but everyone gets an equal chance at any resort in the system from 11 months on regardless of whether your points are resale or where you are deeded.

        Good luck!
