My husband and I bought a BG timshare adn we have until tomorrow to rescind it. We have never done anything like this before and I am very nervous wondering if we did the right thing. We purchased 15,000 point and we have the traveler plus also. Is BG a reputable company and easy to work with? I don't want to have to spend tons of hours planning a vacation and then not get what I want.

You are so fortunate you found this board before the period to get out of the contract is up. In general, buying from the developer means you paid much too much.
Consider the fact that you aren't sure what you purchased, cancel the contract--following the directions on the contract TO THE LETTER--and read and learn about timeshares on this forum. Then, if you still want to buy, buy what will suit your needs, and buy resale for a fraction of what you would pay the developer.
It's very, very easy to buy timeshares, and it's very, very, very difficult to sell them; it is a true buyer's market. You can always buy from the developer again--what they told you about "never again" just isn't true--if that's what you ultimately decide you want to do.

Another vote to rescind. It is not hard if you follow the instructions in the contract, but you need to hurry!
Once that is done, you can stay around these forums, learn about how Bluegreen works, and make an educated decision (and not under pressure from salespeople!) about purchasing.

Bear in mind that you can re-purchase, probably at a lower price, from the developer if you want. Knowing what you are doing in the negotiations makes a huge difference. They tell you it is a one time deal, the deal of a life-time, but that simply is not true. The old joke is "How can you tell when a timeshare salesman is lying?........If his lips are moving." You can go back to the same resort in 6 months and do a better job of negotiating, or you can go to any Blue Green resort tomorrow and get the same, or a better, deal.
Do not lose your one chance to get out of it! Then, do your research and buy as an informed consumer."You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity." Adrian Rogers

I own Bluegreen
I purchased a certain number of qualified points thru the BG affiliate Pinnacle so that I could have access to Travelers Plus and RCI Nightly stays. Then I purchased my remaining points resale for pennies on the dollar.
All BG owners get access to RCI. TP and other benefits only come with qualified points.
Start reading the posts here on the Bluegreen Forum to get lots of info
Be sure to follow the directions exactly to rescind.

Blended Points - Bluegreen and Resale
We now how 30,000 points per year to allocate to vacations. We bought 15,000 through Bluegreen to get to the bronze premier level and 15,000 through resale. Our dollars average is about 80 cents per point....which we considered reasonable. We do like our Bluegreen vacations. We have only a miniaml gripe hear and there about something...and it was usually handled by the resort staff effectively (although I did have to limp down to the front desk at Club 36 and explain how in the world my wife broke the cork screw trying open one of her wine bottles...I guess she really wanted that wine).

As a bronze member if I understand that I can go out to the website and request a resort and the time I want to go approximately 12 months prior to the trip. Then 11 months prior to the trip I can actually confirm the trip. Once my trip is confirmed can someone with a higher point status bump my trip?

Almost
You can't wait list on the website; you must call in to Bluegreen to get on the wait list. For Bronze, you can (and should) do it at exactly 12 months prior to your travel date.
Bluegreen will work the wait list the day before travel and will send you notification that it is confirmed.
Once your vacation is confirmed (at 11 months) you cannot be bumped.
Platinum and Gold members can get on the wait list earlier than Bronze, so it is possible you won't get your wait list request. I'm a Platinum member and I've gotten most of my WL requests but twice I have not.

ps - I'm a happy BG Platinum owner. The company is easy to work with and I've enjoyed my trips. I purchased only resale so cannot comment on the sales division from personal experience.

Consider purchasing enough points thru Bluegreen authorized reseller Pinnacle To get to the level u want and then the rest resale.
I purchased enough thru Pinnacle to be gold and the rest resale. Started with 44k and now have 65k.

So the levels are bronze platinum and gold? We bought ours at Big Cedar. We bought 15,000 points at around $1.50 a point I think. They also gave us a 1 week RCI trip and a cruise to be used in the next year or they can extend it if we don't use it. My husband will be retiring in the next few years and we want to have something paid for before he retires. We want to have something available for our kids as well as be able to travel to other countries. How many points will I need annually? Just an estimate?

We have all suggested/ told u to rescind. If you find out after two weeks that u still want to purchase directly thru BG, your deal will still be available. REALLY.
