  • Anyone been to CIBOLA VISTA RESORT AND SPA lately

in Peoria, Az...and if so, how was it? We are thinking about traveling there late in the year. We would hope to visit the Grand Canyon a time or two...but what else is there to see/do?
Is it a decent place to stay for a week, or are there not enough activities.
    Thanks ahead of time!

          Cibola Vista

We traveled to Arizona last year to stay at our Marriott Canyon Villas Vacation Club, and also extended our vacation by staying a few nights at Cibola Vista.

The resort is very nice, and it was pretty quiet even though we were there just after Thanksgiving. The rooms are fairly luxurious and everything is very new looking. We stayed in a one bedroom deluxe which had a full kitchen and living area, a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom, and a large bathroom. There is a nice pool area with a slide and a spa on site. Across the road are stables for horseback riding - the prices were very reasonable and the staff friendly -we did a ride through the desert. I do not remember whether there was any restaurant on site - I do not believe so. There were activities but we were only there for a short time.

The location is a bit removed from the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. However, it is easily accessed by highways and you can tell the area around the resort is quickly developing. There is a State Recreation Area close by with a large lake for boating, hiking, and camping. Also, the location would be good for traveling north to Sedona and/or the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon would still be a fair drive, but there are many tours that will take you there if you want to leave the driving (or flying) to others. Hot Air Ballooning is very popular in this area of Arizona as well.

Thank you so much for the replies. We ended up using the Select Connections...now staying at the Legacy Golf Resort, which ended up being a much better deal since some of our points were expiring Oct. 31st. We loved how we could use our expiring points with Select Connections even though we are not traveling until Christmas week.
Keep the advice coming...and places to see, etc...
              Thanks again!

Just to let you know what we ended up doing...we used Select Connections and booked 8 nights over Christmas at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix. It was a much better deal since we had points expiring Oct. 31st. I love how you can use points with Select Connections even after they supposedly expired. I really don't understand why BG doesn't change their policy. If you book before they expire, you should be able to use them thru BG even if the reservation is for a time after the points expire. I will use Select Connections many more times since they have this benefit.
