Price per point?

We were offered a price that seems reasonable but we are till in our first year so they said this price is still locked in at developer pricing. Is this true or if we decline will they be offering the same price next year at our next owner update? I don't want to miss the opportunity to get points at $1.50 and have to pay more later. Can anyone help me better understand this is it just sales tactics or is there truth to this?
