  • Club Associate Resorts

I am in the process of buying a package from Boca, who is smart and totally awesome, and starting to plan our first trip(s). I have learned the key to the bluegreen game is planning.

Today's question is about club assocate resorts. I love montains and live in South Carolina. Foxrun, Petit Crest and Golf Club Resort at Big Canoe are each about a 3-4 hour drive. How are these resorts, they look older? How is avaliblity at the resorts? Should I just drive an extra hour and a half and go to Gatlienburge or Piegon Forge?

Out of the 3 resorts which is the best and should I just run from any of them?

I've only been to Foxrun. Love the area. Plenty to see and do. The unit was nice, but dated. Needed some TLC. This was three years ago. Bluegreen has limited availability at any of the associate resorts so not very easy to get into. We went in February, but the weather was surprisingly nice. Lake Lure sets in a thermal valley, which means the temps are somewhat warmer than the surrounding area. By and large, most associate resorts are not always kept up to the standards of BG's owned and operated resorts. They are not bad, especially for the points needed, if you're not a fussy vacationer. Unless it's during off-season, you will need to make reservations by the 11-month time period.
