Anyone been to Players Club recently? My Mom lives close to Hilton Head and we were thinking of trying it out for a weekend when we go to visit next year.

We have seen mixed reviews of the place, but all of them are several years old. It sounds as if half the place is a hotel and half is the Vacation Club. Are some room types better than others? Noticed there was a 2 bedroom greenhouse, 2 bedroom loft, and 2 bedroom/1 bath - which was not even listed on Bluegreen's site - as well as the studio and 1 bedroom units.

We were there the first of June. It's an older resort, but they are keeping it up. I would definitely go back - like next October. It's a nice but small resort. Two of the buildings are hotel rooms, the other two are timeshare units. We were in one of the 2 bdrm greenhouse units. I really like them. They are on the second floors at the ends. I think the studio units are below them, but not sure. I believe the 2 bdrm units w/lofts are on the inside on the second floors and the 2 bdrm units w/o lofts are on the lower floors. I myself would not be afraid of staying there. There has been some updating and newer furniture. Our unit had a flat screen TV in living room.

I liked the location and grounds. The pool was nice. I liked the ponds, walkways, tennis courts, etc. It is conveniently located near grocery stores and Walgreens. We had a ground floor two bedroom unit, even though we booked a second floor two bedroom loft unit. The loft units look much nicer. The ground floor are cramped and seem dark. The second bedroom is tiny and the second bath is small.

That being said, a family of six had a great time. If I were staying or more than three days, I would really work at getting the loft unit. This is an associate resort, so I did feel a little like an outsider.

The lobby and check in areas are very much like a small motel or really just a small room - that was a little bit of a shock. But at least I didn't have to go to the entertainment director to get a parking pass and get pressured into a sales meeting.
