Incumbent Respectfully Requests Your Vote for Bluegreen Board

I have been an active member of the Bluegreen Vacation Club Board of Directors since its inception 16 years ago. Prior to the formation of the Club, I was an owner at RDI, the company name before it became Bluegreen. Since that time, I have witnessed both Bluegreen and our club expand and mature to the respect it now holds within the timeshare industry and among owners.

For the past five years I have personally traveled to Boca Raton to attend every annual board meeting and thoroughly poured through mountains of data before making informed decisions on each item that required a vote. Prior to meetings, I communicated with various Bluegreen executives with countless questions concerning items to be determined in the upcoming meetings. I have taken this duty seriously and hope to continue to do so for another term.

From a personal note, I have continued to use my points each year to enjoy wonderful vacations at BG resorts and am very fond of The Hammocks in Marathon. With the recent addition of triplet grandsons (born June 1), I have decided to SpaceBank my points this year in the hopes that we can utilize them next year. Professionally, for the past 32 years I have been a writer and publicist for many clients within the timeshare industry. This wonderful career has enabled me to visit and write about hundreds of resorts and their parent companies and be able to witness and write about the growth of timesharing. I am also an owner at the Shell Vacations Club and have visited (and written about) almost all of their 23 resorts during the past dozen years. I also write articles about industry trends and events for ARDA's magazine and several other industry publications. My website is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I am extremely proud of our Club and the Bluegreen executives who have tirelessly worked over the years to maintain reasonable maintenance fees to ensure that we continue to enjoy well-managed accommodations in popular destinations. While Bluegreen is not a client, I have written about them for many magazines and am proud of my affiliation on your Board. I respectfully request that you take about 2 minutes to go to Bluegreen's website and vote for me before the Sept. 20 deadline so that I may continue to serve you in the future.

I have a questions for both Susan and Marge. If elected what will you do about the abuse of using unqualified points/secondary market points to book wait list requests and to have unlimited cancellations?

This is directly from a BG.
"Please be advised that any Club Vacation Points that are not acquired through a
Bluegreen sales office or an authorized Club reseller are ineligible for use in
attaining Bluegreen Premier status or for use with any associated Bluegreen
Premier benefits. Once an owner has attained Platinum status within the
Bluegreen Premier program, he or she may choose to purchase additional Points
through an unauthorized reseller or an individual, and those Points can be used
to make reservations for personal use or placed for rent within the guidelines
of standard Vacation Club ownership. However, Premier owners may not utilize
any Points which were purchased through an unauthorized reseller or an
individual in association with their Premier membership benefits."

Thirsty, more to the point, I think you should ask them what they think about the issue of using unqualified points/secondary market points to book wait list requests and to have unlimited cancellations... They might not be able to DO anything....since there are other board members involved...I think what you should be asking for, more accurately, is their perspective.....

You are correct and it would be nice to hear their perspective. Thank you for the correction.

So, in Marge's defense as it was said that we did not get a response from her, where is Susan's response to this question? I realize Susan has participated in the past, and I am still relatively new to this group, however if everyone is not playing by the same rules how is she any different? We belittled Marge because she did not reply, but have not done the same here.

Did you get a private response from Marge or Susan ?

This forum isn't one that I would expect to see candidates express their platform....Since there are more than two candidates running, that would, in fact, be unfair to the others..

Please do let us know if you've heard from Susan or Marge, in a reply...

Since the purpose of the Class A Directors is to represent the Class A members, I would assume that any Class A director would seek out methods to learn about the concern of other members. If the other 14 or so candidates aren't seeking out our concerns, they would not be fair to us. So I cannot accept as fact that several candidates commenting in this or any other forum would be unfair to the "quiet" candidates who probably are just running for some free trips to Florida at our expense.

I think when you are seeking an elected position and are asking for votes you should state your position on important issues. I would like to know Susan and Marge's view on using unqualified points/secondary market points to book wait list requests and to have unlimited cancellations? I know this is a very touchy issue, for some owners, but I think it is a fair question and I would like to hear their opinions.

Not sure who in particular you are asking this question of but am assuming the OP.

Strongley disagree with this statement. Anybody running for public or private office of any sort has to speak publicly about where they stand. This is not only so they can be held accountable for their actions afterwards, but how they create trust and transparency in order to secure votes. If politicians sat behind closed doors, and did not have debates and meet with the pubic would you still vote for them? If you did, on what exact basis would you be voting for?

                            Thirsty,
While these issues are important to you, they are not part of the Vacation Club domain. Susan and Marge, et. al., are running for a position on the Bluegreen Vacation Club Board. The issues you are talking about are VIP benefits that are solely under control of Corporate BG. Susan and Marge, et. al., are not running for the Corporate BG Board of Directors. I assume that Board is elected by the stockholders.

On page four of Exhibit 0 of the Multi-Site Public Offering Statement we find:

"There is a Facility associated with this Multi-Site Vacation Plan known as the Bluegreen VIP Program. The Developer owns, operates and administers the Bluegreen VIP Program and membership in the Bluegreen VIP Program can only be acquired from the Developer. For further information, see Section III.2, Club Membership and Recreational Property Use at Various Component Sites, of this Public Offering Statement."

                                Because they can't. It's entropy.
