Thinking about buying, but for bonus time only

I am interested in purchasing time/deed, specifically for bonus time. I have a family member that has a deed at Christmas mountain and she uses bonus time about once a month in fall/winter. I would like something like this for myself, but don't want to spent thousands of dollars. I wonder if it would be better to just pay the outsider premium rental rates instead of purchasing points. Are there resellers that sell small packages that would include bonus time? Is it possible to get bonus time in the whole BG system, or would it just be exclusive to Christmas mountain, and what would the price range be? Would you recommend a reseller, or should I talk to BG directly.

Thank you so much in advance for your advice. I just want to say, I absolutely love the Christmas mountain resort and its such a wonderful getaway from Chicago.

If you want Bonus Time at only Christmas Mountain then you need to be "deeded" at Christmas Mountain. Due to the economy, you can pick up such deeds and/or BG points for next to nothing.

If you want Bonus Time in the entire BG system, then you need to purchase "authorized points" which are only sold by BG or Pinnacle. Pinnacle will sell for as low as $1.25 a point. BG will be higher.

Bocabum (Jim) is a referral agent for Pinnacle in addition to selling BG timeshares. Contact him and he will ask you the important questions so that you can set yourself up for what you want now and might want in the future. He is a good guy to work with.

Thanks! I will do that. I've been scouring the internet and I seem to find a few deeds all over, ebay, forums, TS websites, and the MF's vary tremendously. I guess I need to decide if I want to lock myself down to XMAS mountain only, or have the ability to travel elsewhere within the system.

MF for a given number of points will vary depending upon which Trust Fund the original sale was assigned to. Join the Bluegreen Yahoo group. At their web site is a calculator which allows you to calculate the MF in several of the Trust Funds based on the number of points. It is important to note that it may be cheaper to be in one Trust Fund if you have a small number of points and more expensive if you have a large number of points.

Additionally, when people are posting sale ads, they sometimes post last years amount, or they leave off the real estate taxes, or they include the Vacation Club dues. So there are lots of reasons why MF in ads are all over the map.

Note, if you buy a fixed or flex/float deed at Christmas Mountain you are tied to only Christmas Mountain. If you buy BG points resale that are based at Christmas Mountain you only have Bonus Time at Christmas Mountain but you can use your BG points anywhere in the BG system. If you buy authorized points you also get Bonus Time anywhere in the BG system.

I have heard it's getting harder and harder to get the bonus time thru the years, so I am taking that into consideration, yes thank you. I figured that since I'm looking to go during the week more often - it would be a little easier.

Special Assessement. This is money that is needed in access of your normal MF's. Basically, the MF's that have been previously paid are not enough make necessary repairs and there is a shortfall. All of the owners at this resort make that up via a special assessment. We are about to have one with our personal condo as there is major work that needs to be done to the parking lot.

The HOA's at Christmas Mountain are hashing through it. The bids, as I understand it, were way too high.
