  • The Fountains: My Experience

    Hello Everyone:

I just wanted to take a quick moment to recount my experience of purchasing a rental at The Fountains through BocaBum. I have also spent considerable time talking to him about buying points at Bluegreen.

He has been exceptionally gracious with his time and I wanted to give him some kudos for that.

I stayed at The Fountains from Sept 3-10. I arrived at the resort and in about 3 minutes, I was signed in and given my room and pool cards. We stayed in Building 2 (2601) and it was a fantastic 2 bedroom unit. My girlfriend was pleasantly surprised when she walked in the door and my two boys loved the fact that they had their own queen size bed in their foroom.

Personally, the decor really wasnt my cup of tea, but she liked it a lot and ultimately, that was perfect for me.

I was expecting to spend more time resting and relaxing at the resort, but that did not happen. I only managed to spend one afternoon and one late evening at the pools. My eight year old loved the slides and kids water play area at the main pool.

The service we received by the staff was outstanding. It took me less than 60 seconds to check out and I was on my way. I really can't say enough to articulate the fantastic experience we had with all aspects of this vacation.

My only two minor nitpicks that are barely worth mentioning would be the less than satisfactory dishwasher (maybe it was out of Jet Dry) as it did not want to clean dishes and glasses very well and the lint catcher in the dryer was in need of replacement.

But really....seriously...are those really big problems?

Also, I got free wifi. Had to get a password, but it was free and I wasnt charged any daily resort fees. I am not sure if I "got away" with that or if I wasnt going to pay any all along, but I budgeted 12 bucks a day for the fees and was pleasantly surprised when I didnt have to pay any additional fees.

Thanks again, Jim! I hope my post generates more business for you. I know that when I decide to stay at another Bluegreen property you will be the first and only person I call.

    Thanks!

I think BG gives people who rent points the same perks that owners have. But I'm an owner who rents so haven't really looked into it. But I've never heard of anything like "owners only" or "owners staying at this resort only" kind of stuff like you get with DVC. BG sometimes refuses people who ask to use the pool at a sister resort, but that would be as true of owners as of renters, because it's based on how busy the pool is not on who is asking.

Glad you enjoyed the Fountains. I don't like the decor either. I do subdued at home, so I like the bright colors at some of the BG resorts, and they seem to be phasing those out a lot of places.

We just got back from spending a week at the fountains, Oct 5-10. I wanted to back up what was already said about the fountains. It's a great place to stay. We didn't spend much time there for the planned activities we had arranged to do, but the place is beautiful. It's location is perfect for getting to all the Parks. I too was surprised with the speedy check in and check out, and no added fees like some others i've stayed that have daily fees. That is if you turn in your pool card upon check out. The pool card is for towels, you give the card for a towel and get the card back when towel is returned or you get charged 10.00, sounded fare to me. We are planning a return trip for next year.
