  • Bluegreen RCI exchange info

I have been a Bluegreen owner for about 12 years now and occasionally deposited weeks into RCI. I was familiar with the old RCI weeks system , as in the earlier you deposit your week and the location, size of unit etc you had more choices. How does the direct relationship between Bluegreen and RCI as far as trading value and availability or does it matter anymore? Is it possible the further out you make your reservation the more choices you have? Any imput would be a great help

You no longer can bank reservations made with BG points into RCI. Instead, you use your points to make an RCI "exchange" the same way you do for a Bluegreen "exchange". That is, you look to see what is available at this moment, you see how many points it takes, and then you either take it or reject it. BG and RCI have already decided the trading value and you will see the actual number of Bluegreen points that you need. The number of choices is a function of what is there at that moment. You now have to figure out when the RCI inventory will be at the maximum for the dates, location, and unit type you want so that you have a good choice. Also remember that this is only for borrowed or annual points. With saved points the reservation has to be within 45 days of when you make it. However, with the non-saved points you could make an RCI exchange today for something in 2013, if it was available today. As far as I know, the point value won't change as the time for the reservation approaches. However, the RCI change is so recent we probably don't have any data. In any event, if you see what you want when you want it, and you can afford it, grab it. Note that the only possibility of banking a 3000 point week and getting a 10000 point week in return is if you were to use a different exchange company such as II or one of the many other smaller ones.

      Vote for Susan

I forgot to mention that the incumbent running for the Board of the BG Vacation Club still thinks you can bank with RCI. Shows how much she is paying attention. Today is the last day to vote for Susan who does know and is concerned about owners concerns. Vote at

      https://bluegreenowner.com/owner/ownerproxy.aspx

If you voted for the incumbent earlier, you can revote because only the last vote counts. (Actually I believe you can vote up til 10 am (EDT) tomorrow, but don't wait, the Internet may go down.)

If you are after some special trades, there is a forum on which members post exchanges that they have just seen (and don't want or can't use). Of course you have to work at watching it because others are also. But we have no idea what you want and maybe something would show up that you never thought you would have a chance at getting.

Note that they often quote Trading Power. That is only important if you have banked a non-BG Points reservation. Your "Trading Power" with BG Points is shown when you log into BG web site and get into RCI through them.
