How is this resort for non-golfers? How far from St. Augustine attractions? Just starting to plan for Memorial Day and thought I would start here. Any good tips, send my way!

There is plenty to do for non-golfers. The grounds are beautiful and St. Augustine isn't that far of a drive. We enjoyed the World Golf Hall of Fame next door. The people at the concierge desk were very helpful in suggesting restaurants and such. We also visited Anastasia State Park (there is an entrance fee) which has a wonderful beach. Purchase trolley tickets to get around town. It was good for the whole time we were there and we rode it nearly every day. I would gladly go back to this resort.

we didn't care for the resort, one of the few negative votes, I believe they give different units to non Bluegreen owners. We had an extremely small unit, although we recieved a letter with a diagram of a lovely unit.
I feel it is a long drive to the attractions and beach. We moved to a resort on t he beach in St Augustine and enjoyed it much more.

We spent a few days in a two bedroom unit. It was enormous. It had giant bathrooms, a wonderful screened in porch, a roomy kitchen area. We also had a sink in the living room, my kids still laugh about that.
The grounds are nice and I like the world golf village. We drove into st. Augustine with little problems. It is rather far from the beach, but the pool area is really good. The grocery store was right on site or near it.
I rank this resort better than Hershey, the Falls in Branson, Laurel Crest, and much better than the Players Club.

I stayed there a few years ago from a BG owner on ebay.
It was over July 4th and the resort had a nice huge fireworks show and did a cook out and gave everyone tons of left overs. They have a huge zero entry pool and a nice hot tub. I don't play golf either so wasn't interested in the biggest draw there but wanted to visit the area and was happy with the resort.
The resort is located west of I-95 and is a suburban area. Not really touristic. Kind of like Palm-Aire, Doral or Vacation Villages in Weston. There is a Publix supermarket in the golf village, the room was a good sized 1 bedroom in a lowrise building. It was low pressure to take the tour. Actually no one that I recall made any efforts once I declined to tour.
They have some kind of arrangement with a local upscale beach club where they will give you a day pass to use the facilities. We went to the beach club and it was very nice with a beautiful pool, restaurant, bar and a boardwalk beach. You'll need a car to stay in this resort if you want to visit the Old City or the beach.
I'd go back again. I thought it was a nice resort despite not being on the beach but IMO the beach isn't too nice in this area anyway so no big loss.

St Augustine area has a lot of attractions:
1) Take the Red Train TROLLEY TOUR. Tickets are good for 3 consecutive days. You can get a great discount if you take the sales presentation.
2) Visit Flagler College - take the tour and see the amazing architectural details and Tiffany glass.
3) Take a wine tasting tour at San Sebastian Winery.
4) Walk about the city's historic district.
5) The Fountain of Youth is an out and out tourist trap, but the park has several attractions that are interesting to see.
6) Take the free shuttle bus provided by the trolley company over to the lighthouse and the beach areas.
Enjoy yourself!!

1) We did the trolley every day. Great bargain and really reduces the need to find parking. Park at the trolley station and see the town.
2) I had forgotten about that. It was very amazing to see, tour and learn about the person and college.
3) Or better yet-don't. Had some really bad wine there.
4) Many good places to stop and eat on the walk. Lots of small stores that should be explored.
5) Sure, tourist trap, but I drank the water and will live forever
6) We drove to the beach. Wish I could remember the place where we ate there, really good sandwiches...and views of the beach
We liked our room (2BR) and other than the leaking AC unit that had our carpet full of water, everything was very nice in the room, better than our last stay at the Fountains.
Yes, it is a drive into the town, but that doesn't mean I didn't do it every day. There is also a couple shopping areas, Tanger outlet and I think another outlet store.
Yes, I would do it again, and hopefully will.Don
