Just got this in an email...

Great news! We've listened to your suggestions and comments concerning your Vacation Club ownership and have expanded your ability to book Saved Points exchange reservations from 45 days to 6 months prior to your check-in date!

Now, with even more time to plan, your vacation options are wide open! That means you can visit more exotic destinations, like beach getaways and snowy retreats, more of the time with RCI*.

Remember, the easiest and most convenient way to elect to save your unused annual Points is to log onto Bluegreen Online > My Account > My Points. The My Points page will present an option to save your eligible Points and pay a $35 administrative fee. If you do not elect to save your Points prior to their expiration, they will not automatically roll over and cannot be restored.

Yes it is. I was not an owner when u could reserve and deposit a week in RCI to prevent them from becoming saved/expired points, but having a 6 month window is much better then 45 days.

This is definately a HUGE benefit, but another one I would like to see is discounted point stays at say 120, 60 and 30 days out. With the flat cross-over grid, there are no discounts or encouragement to take last minute (rentals) EXCHANGES.

There is hot weeks for 3,000 points.... This is last minute..

Colin, "regular" RCI members start to see reduced TPUs (or points) required for exchanges at the 45, 30, 15 day mark.
BG charges the same amount of points for an exchange at 20 days out as 12 months out, there is no last minute discount.

Hot Weeks are 10 days or less from check-in, REALLY last minute.

Thanks for pointing at that I ment exhanges, not actually rentals, and this is exactly what I was referring to. 10 days is great, but I do like to do a LITTLE bit more planning than that. The majority of the exhanges offer discounts closer to check in, including exchanges and rentals so would like to see BG do the same.

There have been some that I might have taken at 45, but by the time it gets to 10 days they are not on the HotWeeks. No doubt because other RCI users have scooped them up at their reduced TPU or points rate. I would gladly pay a little more than 3000 points to have a little bit more planning, and get something I like a little more. ICE discounts starting at up to 3 months out, SVC used to give 30 days so a little more equal playing ground is all that is being asked.
