Resort choice important in purchase?

In buying points (from Pinnacle, or a FSBO) what is the importance of which resort your choose. I realize that is what will be deeded to you, but if maintenance fees are on a flat basis at all resorts (more or less), why would I want to chose one resort over the other?

Only if the bonus time at a certain resort or

the reservation window mattered. That would only be an issue if you wanted to go to that resort. Otherwise it makes no difference.

Ok, that where I'm missing the beat. I thought bonus time was wherever, whenever available. Fill me in on that one.

If you buy regular resale ("unauthorized points"), you only get bonus time at the resort where you own. If you want bonus time at all the resorts, you must buy from Pinnacle and pay $1.25 (I think it is) per point to get authorized points.
