12 months for what?

Colin, I think there is some confusion there.
A points reservation is only placed 11 months out. With premier status, you can get on the wait list earlier, up to 15 months out, but the reservation isn't placed until 11 months.

If you are deeded at a resort, you can get that week at 12 months, before the other reservations are placed.

And, points are points. If you buy retail or resale, those points all have the same value and can all be used at the 11 month mark to make a reservation.

First paragraph correct.
Second paragraph, a question. Are you referring to a BG points owner or a deeded fixed week owner or a deeded flex/float owner? Points owner can now reserve the unit that backs up their points 13 months out. Deeded fixed week owners shouldn't even have to reserve. Deeded flex/float owners are variable, at some resorts you can reserve up to 24 months in advance.
Third paragraph correct.

I thought I had learned through here that the deeded location could be reserved 12 months out, a month before other reservations. I guess I am wrong. Hence the 2 out of 3.

You probably did. However, the 12 month rule has recently been replaced by the 13 month rule. That is the only reason why I commented. I think most people still think it is 12 months. (And you generally are right much more than 66% of the time.)
