  • Does anybody else photograph the places they stay for review purposes?

I don't mean a prefessional review or anything like that, more like one of many tools for fellow forum members touse in helping them in decide if they want to stay at a resort. I like to take pcs of the places we stay. Since joining Bluegreen I figured I would take pics of every place we stay, for two reasons. One, my own personal comparison between what is used for publicity and what is reality, and two, in the hopes that there is some place here that we could post them. If this has been preposed and shot down, just let me know. If no one is intrested in something like this, let me know. If you are intrested in this, let me know.

I always take pictures of where I stay.
I post them on my Facebook page and on the Bluegreen Yahoo Group.
Photos are ways welcome and you can post a link to them when you write a review here and elsewhere.

I do tend to take pictures of the unit for new places we stay (not repeat places like CMV where we go 1-2 X year) mostly because the DW scrapbooks and uses those pictures as part of the layout.

However, there are enough pictures on the Bluegreen site, and I think I can say pretty accurate, that I personally don't feel a need to post more pictures of the resorts or units here. But that is my opinion.

I take them more for myself that for review purposes. I do usually post them to the BG Yahoo group if no one else has done that particular unit type or section, but I don't post them if someone else has done a good job or if the unit's due for refurbishment anyhow. Never posted my pics of the Fountains 2BR Deluxe, even though I loved it, because they were due to be redone by the end of the year. Don't even want to stay there, now. Well, not with the troops, anyhow. Don't like the way they've redone the dining area at all. I assume that the regular unit DR tables still seat six, but I really like the view from the Deluxe units (at least from the higher ones).

I always take pictures of the places we stay. I usually have several albums of the vacation so the people who are interested in seeing the resort can look at that album and the ones who aren't interested can skip that album and choose another one to look at.

I have over 200 albums on my webshots site. Click on the link below to see them. There is a slideshow option, but sometimes you need to click on the first picture of the album for the menu to come up. It is on the right-hand side of the screen.

Every resort we stay at, every time.

dougp26364's photos and albums on webshots and http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/

Right now I'm using Smugmug more than Webshots because I prefer the layout and slideshow features on that site and, I can link it directly into Marriott Vacation Clubs webpage for Marriott owners to view the albums for the Marriott resorts where we've vacationed.

Wow, Doug, I see what you mean about the slideshow on Smugmug. It'a great. I just looked at your great pictures of Marriott Grand Chateau. We are going there next Saturday.

Does Smugmug charge the same as Webshots to use put albums on their site?

It's in the same neighborhood if not the same.

As has been pointed out, post yours in the appropriate resort album in the Bluegreen Yahoo site. And Yes, it does take some time.
