    No, they are not. You can use resale points at any resort - just like the "over priced spread" retail ones. Also bonus IS available (they WANT the income from that no matter how you purchased).
    There are virtually no downsides to resale but PLENTY, as in WAY TOO MUCH MONEY to retail.

        It's pretty awesome that every time I post someone indirectly slams retail points when it has nothing to do with the original poster's questions. Blinded by hatred. Can't even see that I recommended he rescind. Too busy raging about retail.

          with resale points you only get Bonus Time at the resort you are deeded at.
          Therefore if you want BT for the rest of the resorts then you need to buy some qualified points ie BG sales or Pinnacle.
          If you buy from Pinnacle at $1.25 per point (or above) you will get BT at all the resorts.
          Points from Pinnacle at less than $1.25 do not come with this benefit
