  • have 5 days to cancel need some advice

hey there. my wife and kids and i have been frequent visitiors to the Wilderness Club near Branson but have had to buy hit and miss online at ebay . we live 45 minutes from the place and would like to go there for a few days each month. We also wil do a beach vacation once a year. we really like the bonus plan i.e. set price if bought 45 days before and would take friends etc and save money there too. So... we bought 13000 points direct from bluegreen at 20K $1,000 annual maintaince. which can be brought down with referrals etc. Your thoughts please on if you think I got ripped. We got the charter via Bass Pro with additional benefits. Keep in mind we will use this frequently and think it will allow us to take nice vacations. Also, am told and read that we have to resell via bluegreen at out purchase price if we resell. your thoughts appreciated

        yes

Yes, rescind while you can. You'll wish you had later, nothing they offer is worth 20K$.

Amen. You asked so please pay attention and rescind while you can. You can get the exact same ownership for about $19K less (!!!!) and that is a great deal. Retail at $20K is an unwise purchase as you will never get that upfront money back (the resale value is at most $2000) and the annual fees are the same. The extra $19k+ buys you nothing. Rescind now.

Wilderness Club at Big Cedar on Ebay

I bought points on ebay at the BCWC after years of renting. This is the way to go and you still get bonus time at Big Cedar. We go about once a month and have for years. Great choice.

Just keep watching ebay and one day, you will get exactly what you want.

When you sell, you do not have to sell to (or through) BG but you do have to go through their Resort Title Agency for some paper work no matter how you sell. And as was pointed out several times, you will get nowhere near your original purchase price. Due to inability to pay maintenance fees, some are giving away their points.

I would say it depends on how much time you're getting back for the 20,000, but at first glance, I would say rescind as well.

thanks for your help. but I am thinking when I want to sell I can do so via wilderness club since that is where I bought and I have a charter membership and have unlimited bonus time. your thoughts? seems like so many people cannot sell theirs and get stuck with the maintance fee. will will go so often the 20K will be surpassed in a few short years. your continued thoughts please especially on the selling

You asked if it was a "good deal" and a bunch answered no. Now you want to try to tell yourself it is no matter what we said. Why ask?

The simple truth is nothing you get from a developer purchase is worth what you pay. Whatever points you feel you need you can easily & cheaply get resale - maybe as low as free! Why [s]spend[/s] waste $20K for the same thing? But do what you want, we're just answering your question that no, it is not a good deal. There is NO guarantee that Bluegreen would actually sell your time for what you paid. If you pay little or nothing resale thats all you need to resell for when you're done. Think about it.

TWO DAYS LEFT TO RECIND!! thanks for all your help everyone. quick question; when buying BG points at resale can I still go to other BG resorts and what about bonus time? although at such a savings the bonus time may not be an issue. look forward to your replys. dave

You have the option of getting your $20K back and everyone that answers says take the money and run, but you still want an opinion?
If you think you have such a good deal I suggest that you attend a timeshare presentation weekly so you can compare how much BS goes into the $20K that you are flushing down the toilet.
Don't be foolish, rescind why you still have a chance.....

Tell me about your bonus time? How many points did you purchase? How did you work out the changes with the deed you purchased from the ebay seller?

I've heard of companies that only allow resale points to be used at the property they're owned in, but I'm not 100% sure of BlueGreen being one of those companies.. I might be thinking of King's Creek, but can't be 100% sure.
