  • Hints about renting out a place we've booked?

We're looking to rent out the place we've booked at The Fountains for this Spring Break and already have someone interested.

Would anyone like to share any hints about how they've done it, please?

Do we just call the actual Fountains desk and ask them to change the name on the reservation?

Are there any pitfalls we should be looking out for?

    Appreciate any advise!

I believe you need to go thru reservations for name changes vs resort front desk. Once that is done, the resort should have it, real-time.

Do provide the renter with conf # and resort # so they can verify ressie in their name.

We've already booked the suite at The Fountains, so we're set there. There question is if we use it ourselves or rent it to someone who's interested.

We've just never re-rented a Bluegreen suite before, so we're looking for any advice on how to do it.

We've got two "Spring Break" weeks for rent, starting tomorrow, and it looks like we'll get el zippo.

I am offering them for NYOP on some sites, and have not even gotten an offer. Even my $300/week regulars are staying home, I guess.

I am getting offers on a peak summer July week in a popular family vacation destination. But, it is filthy overbuilt with both timeshares and regular condos sold on failed-long-ago nightly rental programs. The best so far is a couple hundred under our annual fee.

We're just trying to tread water, minimize our losses, until . . . .

It does seem like a tough year. Luckily someone approached us about it.

                      Fountains resort

Wonderful place, great for family and kids and very close to all Disney attractions. Traffic can get heavy in the area specific times of day - figure that out on your first day or two and you can avoid it very easily rest of the week.

Rentals in Florida are tricky, there is so much available. Get word out to as many people as you can, add listings in ebay and other timeshare rental places. Don't expect a big profit, try to get your fees paid for points used. There are better places to rent if that is your end goal.

Our first two Spring Break weeks, this week, didn't even get an offer, just suggestive invites from craigslist.

We have another one starting tomorrow, also with no offer.

In both areas the weather has been excellent.

Good to know about the weather though!
                            Thanks!
