I just called down to NOLA - CLP is still under construction but open - they are checking people in to the units that are completed, about 50%. Work is expected to be completed by March 31st.

Has anyone stayed here since the construction? Have all the units been renovated?
I currently have a request in II for QuarterHouse, but am thinking about adding this resort as well. The location seems to be very good, but there were some questionable reviews on trip advisor.

I was told at my owner update March 10 that one of the issues at the club is black mold. They need to get that under control in order to finish.
I think it may involve getting it cleaned up before putting up drywall, but I am not sure on that.DonComment

I was under the impression that the mold removal was all part of the renovations that were going on. I seem to remember hearing that they had closed down rooms that were too damp due to air quality concerns. Eventually they determined they needed to shut down the whole building and do some major renovations. It has been closed for just over a year. There is actually a website specific to this hotel that had an update on it for awhile.
We stayed at Christmas the year before last and had two 1 bedrooms. The location was great and we had no problems with the rooms. Ours only had a half window, but you expect these things in the French Quarter. The other room had a full window. One of the rooftop jacuzzis was closed, but I seem to remember that, as well as some balconies, were also being renovated. The staff were friendly.
I am excited to check it out again - we reserved a weekend in late August/early September. From what I understand, it is open for business again, so you should be hearing from someone that has stayed there soon. Rooms started showing up on Interval/RCI? before we were even aware that Bluegreen had opened booking again. However, this property had some fixed week owners that bought prior to Bluegreen taking over.Comment

Well, I decided to add it to my request. I currently see a few rooms available on line, but none for my dates. The location seems to be very good, and the re-do must have improved on the rooms. Got my fingers crossed that one of these two comes through.

The resort is open. The mold issue is old news and was to be handled during renovation.
The only work left is to finish up inside some units. About half the units were completed when I called (date of OP) and people are currently staying there.
Total completion of all units is targeted for the next week or two. Location is very good - similar to Quarter House, just inside the Quarter on Decatur (closer to the river than the center of the Quarter).
I will be there the first weekend in May and will report back, but I wouldn't hesitate to put in a request if I were you.Comment
