  • Thinking about buying a Bluegreen timeshare

it's 40000 points eoy. How long do you have to book out to get a reservation? Is it easier to get a reservation at the property the timeshare is purchased at? If I understand The weeks are 30-34 and 51. So does that mean I can reserve those every year or is there a waiting list also? Are you locked into those weeks or can you switch? This is a resale timeshare not from BG or pinnacle.

    It's in trust block e

Any downsides to resale purchases i.e. not being able to reserve, bonus etc?

Someone else will need to answer your question on using your deeded weeks. Sounds to me like you could only use them EOY, but not sure.

As far as using points to make reservations, it does not matter where you are deeded at. You have no greater standing at your home resort than the next member for points reservations.

By purchasing resale your points will not qualify you for some of the perks. You can get bonus time, but only at your home resort. My points are resale at Harbour Lights. So I can only get bonus time there. Also, your points will not qualify you for the premiere levels, which gives you Travelers Plus, wait list status, and a few other goodies. For my purposes the cost of qualified points are just not worth it. The only real benefit I would possibly get would be bonus time at the other resorts, but that is just my situation. Others may disagree.

With resale points you can book at 11 months out. For the associate resorts where BG has limited availibility I would recommend trying to book 11 months out. If you are looking at buying for Panama City and Gulf Shores during summer months, I would reccomend another TS. Not much availability there (why BG built off the strip in Las Vegas and not in these areas is beyond me). Also for holidays and peak travel times to BG club reorts I would try and book those 11 months out too.

My reservations this year were booked 6 months out for March in St Augustine, 7 months for Harbour Lights in July, and 11 months for Panama City during Thanksgiving. All were 2 bedroom bookings.

I hope this helps some. I recommend that you review this and the Yahoo site and you will pick up some great tips.

If the points package is EOY, then that would be when you are entitled to your deeded week, however, with 40,000 points and being at the Fountains, I don't think there would be trouble getting in there, if you book far enough in advance. (11 months). Based on another discussion on the Yahoo BG discussion board, you would want to find out if the underlying deeds are full weeks or partials. I would assume there is at least one full week, but you never know. at least, if it is your intention to use your deeded weeks.

You can request your deeded time / weeks / split weeks 12 months out..Bluegreen will not allow these units to change to points.. If you do not request this, they will automatically turn to points.

The time-span at which you can reserve your "underlying week" has recently been changed to 13 months.
