Other than the primary interests such as Hershey park and the chocolate factory, what other activities of interest should we consider? Some activities off the beaten path, etc that sometimes go overlooked...some diamonds in the rough. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance.

About an hour away, in Lancaster, there are the Amish. You can do farm and/or house tours, ride in a buggy, eat in many of the delicious restaurants and also go to one of several farmers markets. The crayola factory isn't too far away and there is also the caverns

It's about an hour to Gettysburg, less than two hours to Baltimore, MD, and two hours to Philadelphia.

There are a gazillion factory tours in the area -- this is only a partial list:

You can buzz down to Lititz and see the tiny chocolate museum at the Wilbur Chocolate Factory (right by the Springs park), or make up some Pretzels at the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery (across from the Moravian church, right by Moravian Square) -- there's a little Moravian Museum there, too, which I think would be open right now.

There is a winery trail that has alot of small vineyards that make a nice day trip and you could bring some back to enjoy for the rest of your week. http://www.pennsylvaniawine.com/wineries

Also makes a great way to see the beautiful countryside.
