How's availability at Pono Kai using Bluegreen points? Do they have many weeks availible
And how far in advance do you have to book? TIA

Hi Slip, I'm not certain how many units Bluegreen has, but I have normally been successful at finding availability at exactly 11 months out. I check it frequently for myself and others. And, now that I have touted that success, I checked for May 18, 2013, and there is no availability!!! off topic, but you did see on the other timeshare website where there is a Pono Kai deeded week that is free, didn't you?

Interesting. I could swear I checked for May 2011 and 2012, and both times there was a fair choice. Did a search on my files and there were three different 1 BRs and two different 2 BRs for May 2011 eleven months out. Anita has a thread in the BG owners subforum here tracking Pono Kai availability; I can't get into that forum at the moment but in my own system I recorded limited availability in May, June, and July 2012 eleven months out.

Hadn't checked for 2013 yet, as is obvious. I'm wondering if a lot of people have been putting off a Hawaii vacation for a while and have decided they can afford it.

I frequently used to see Pono Kai availability much nearer-term but haven't checked in a while. My point is, PK is not always booked solid, and I think less so now that we have HI in Select Connections.

Of some Bluegreen points also. I plan to spend six to eight weeks a year at Pono Kai when I retire.

For the Bluegreen points, can you check the availability online or would I have to call in?
I can make my PK reservations by calling Bluegreen at 12 months out and I always get what I want.

you can check/book online or call. Points ownerships get unlimited Bonus Time as well (within 45 days usually but I think PK gets a bit more advance notice), cash transaction instead of points. Adding that tidbit because I don't know if fixed/float ownerships have that feature.

Would I get the bonus time if I purchase resale? I wouldn't need it there but then I could buy the
Points for another resort I may go to often.

Yes, I believe that BT to only the purchased resort is available with resale. Buying points via Pinnacle or BG would get BT to all properties.

Bonus Time at PF and at La Cabana Aruba is 90 days - 93 for owners with status.

slip, I just checked online availability for 05/25/13-06/01/13 and there is a 1br, 2br & 2br loft available! You pretty much have to catch it on the first day it is available at 11 months out!

Great! Did you take that free one that was being offered or did you already have enough? Doing it 12 months out is great, isn't it? Plus, we are lucky and are able to stay in the same unit for the entire 2 weeks that we will be there in March!!

Going to Maui(Valley Isle) and Kauai(Pono Kai) December 2013. Then three weeks at the Pono Kai in 2014. I'll just be looking for one bedrooms now. I'll go to six weeks in the next year or
Two. Then, I'll either stop or go to eight and if I use need more I'll probably use bonus time.
