  • Adding to our 12,000 BG points.

My wife and I are currently acquiring 12,000 BG points for Harbor Lights in Myrtle Beach. The deeded week is week 26. Sales Type Y - Trust fund E.

We would like to be able to add to those points so that we might be able to travel a couple of weeks in the year. I have read that we want to add points that are in the same Sales Type and Trust Fund as that helps keep the maintenance fees lower and also due dates the same.

On Ebay right now there is 10,000 points available, same Sales Type and Trust Fund. How much more in MF's are we talking if we go from 12,000 to 22,000?

    Thanks in advance.

Add $450 to your current. Base fee is $320 and then .045 per point after that. You should have paid $860 this year, and with another 10,000 you should be at $1310 if my math is correct.

If you join the BG Yahoo Group, there is a MF calculator available that allows you to plug in the number of points you are thinking about and to get the amount of the fee. However, you must plug in the number of points that you have in just one Trust Fund and then repeat for points in another Trust Fund (if one, unfortunately, is considering points in two different Trust Funds but you aren't.)

Thanks for the reply. I did join the Yahoo Group before and didn't like the experience. I check the majority of my email on my phone and when I joined, users who weren't internet savvy were blowing up my email notifications posting the same thing over and over again. I tried finding a way to edit my settings so I my email wasn't getting hammered with every single response and thread started, and couldn't find a way to do it. So I left. Yahoo groups is so archaic in nature, hasn't someone started a forum or moved all that great information to here? So much easier to use and forum settings are easily managed.

You could have elected to receive no email and just navigate to the group page when wanting to look at posts.

Porting all that historic info is not a feasible project for volunteers, unless you are throwing your hat in the ring? Yahoo Groups is not a great product, but that's where the nuggets got buried, so that's where they stay.

I'm not interested in maintaining a site, Tug was never interested in having a BG forum, but finally, TS4Ms was created and they saw the wisdom in providing BG forums.

There are many on the Yahoo group that won't use the vBulletin sites and the group is active. There is no reason to shut it down simply because some prefer their info in vBull. It's not obsolete if people are using it.
