  • Staying over maximum room capacity The Fountains

    Hi!

I am a new owner and I have a quick question. I am planning to make a reservation at The Fountains. For the dates that we are planning only 2 bedrooms with a maximum capacity of 6 are available. The problem is that I have 5 kids so that puts us one over the limit. Will that be a problem? Is it strictly enforced? Do they give bracelets for pool usage, etc?

    Thanks for the info!

Have you checked what it says on the BG website - occupancy numbers are strictly enforced but sometimes do not include children under a certain age.

I'd wait until I could get a unit there that sleeps eight. They're bigger units and you have a great view of the lake, but they cost the same number of points.

Also, have you checked RCI? The units that sleep eight are easier to find there (I think a lot of them still belong to weeks owners), and cost about the same points as they would through BG.

You could also switch to Orlando Sunshine. Much smaller resort with fewer amenities, but all the units there sleep eight.

Personally, the Fountains bugs me because in the units that sleep eight, the second bedroom has a queen bed and a fold out sofa. The majority of the units that sleep six, have two doubles in the second bedroom. Now how does that make sense?

I'm sure there is a thread from a year or so ago when I was asking the same thing about another Florida resort. 7 (an infant) in a 6/6.

I took it as far as I could . . . studied the state statutes and then down to the County, which entailed a conversation with the Fire Chief. It was convoluted, but as I recall, it was up to the resort, m/l.

Frankly, since it is past tense for us, we did what most dumb people would, played dumb. We made sure we were never all in the same place in the common areas at the same time. No one counted the 6 big heads and 1 little one.

        Your results may vary.

as a favor to a friend of my daugher, who has 7 children, i booked a three bedroom in orlando for her. when i saw pictures of the trip on Facebook, I saw at least 13 people went on that trip and stayed in the condo. glad i got a guest certificate for her.
