  • Bluegreen not building anymore resorts?

Went to Mountainloft presentation and was told Bluegreen not building anymore resorts since bought by BFC They are getting more into leasing other properties and fee for service resorts. Is this true?

Well they might not be "building" anything right now.
I think most developers aren't building but more like "acquiring" defunct projects.
I think BG just added some units in Manhattan Club to their portfolio and recently they added Charleston, SC, so they are expanding, but maybe not building.

They do have alot of resorts in the collection already to choose from and many in unique places, so even if they never added on, between their collection and your exchange options, you can travel a lifetime and not see it all, although there are some of us here trying our darndest to do just that.

Charleston has been in the portfolio for years, you mean Savannah.

take sales talk with a grain of salt. even if there are no new BG-Built resorts, the portfolio continues to expand with fee for svc or whatever they are calling it.

Besides, not building NOW doesn't mean no building ever again.

Curious what tripe they presented this "purchase of Bluegreen" with? Did they happen to tell you what BFC stands for or just let you think some stranger showed up to buy the system and you'd better buy now to preserve your equity?

Yeah I guess I meant Savannah.
Sorry I only own BG thru CMV so I honestly don't have alot of BG knowledge.
Only what I read from all you BG gurus.

          No matter, you're right!

It's a large portfolio and I'm not too concerned about how the new properties show up, only that I continue to have more and more choices on where to go with my points.

While it is nice when BG built/owns/manages a property, it's not like everyone else sucks at it. They aren't going around collecting vans down by the river and attempting to tell us they are 5*.

BG has done a great job of managing their businesses in the economic downturn without punishing its owners to stay afloat. It's hard for me to find a negative in that.

We just got back from a presentation in Branson. We were told they were building a mega resort with a huge waterpark there. I believe they have already broke ground on it.

That would likely be all the expansion plans for Paradise Point, I think.
