Exchange conversion rates with RCI devalue our points by over 66% - this can't be?

BG set their own conversion rate of 1:1 now which was not the case in 2010 when we exchanged 44,000 BG points into weeks into RCI and they valued these weeks at 100,000 RCI points.
Choosing Spain is irrelevant and I notice that when RCI changed the points value of that week from 22,000 RCI points down to 17,000 RCI points BG did not do the same, therefore the value is entirely down to BG and NOT RCI.
My contract is not with RCI it is with BG and we , as non US residents, only purchased the points to deposit through RCI. They did this in 2010 and are now manipulating what they give RCI to their benefit and our cost.
Well, it is timesharing, so that all sounds about the way things work.

BG and RCI are two totally separate entities although they do seem to be bedfellows.
You unfortunately should not have purchased BG points with the intent of only using them in RCI.
I'm sure the sales people sold you what you wanted to hear to make a sale. That is unfortunate.
Reality is that you can still use your points in BG which in actuality is all that BG is obligated to provide for you.
BG is a great system and much easier to trade within the club than taking your chances with RCI.
It's really designed for you to mainly trade within the family of resorts and rarely trade out.
Not that you can't get some great trades in RCI because that is still possible, just not how it was in the past.

These mini systems keep changing the rules when it comes to trading and who they allow you to trade with.
One year may be RCI, the next, II. I know that I've seen it with Disney since I have owned and I believe
BG did the same thing a few years ago.

You would have been better served to buy an RCI points resort on the resale market if you only wanted to trade in RCI.
That is the reason that you will see that many TS forum peeps own in more than one system.
Wish you would have discovered us earlier but we're glad you are here and hopefully we can help you get the most out of what you own.

All that you have in writing may be true, but I bet if you read the whole contract BG reserves the right to change the contract at any time..

Additionally, BG has not changed their points values, that comes from the RCI side of the equation. RCI changes valuations A LOT, while in over a decade with BG, that has happened exactly ZERO times.

If you didn't buy BG to use BG, it's going to be bumpy for you. You may want to rent out your BG points and use that cash to buy RCI Extra Vacations.

Chris, BG has never restricted who we can deposit to, they simply provide the membership fee + portal to RCI.
