  • Almost a New Bluegreen Owner

Yesterday we signed up for a biennial 6000 point agreement. Our unit was to be at The Suites at Hershey for week 45 in even numbered years. Today after finding this site and TUG we are sending in our cancellation. If we decide to go further with this we will go through the secondary market.

One question I have is how important is the actual unit and week number in your agreement? From the BG sales pitch it seemed like the big deal was the number of points was the big deal. In fact our presentation was at Williamsburg and never found out the listed property would be in Pennsylvania.

    Thanks,
    PMM

The unit and week number will have importance if you plan on using it or renting it. It also depends on the resort as well. For example Christmas Mountain has various types of units (Cottages, Timber, Cabin's etc.) with some having more value than others. Having a specific week number becomes important for booking purposes as you can reserve your deeded week 12 months out (opposed to 11 months out for all other reservations). So, having a holiday week like July 4th will have more value than say a week in October. If both were booked at the 12 month mark you would easily rent a July 4th week, where the week in October would be hard to rent. Again, that all depends on which resort.

If you can, choose a resort that is close by. When buying on the resale market, you will only get bonus time at the resort you own. That is of course unless you buy a qualified resale purchase which can only be done through Pinnacle Group (PM a user named BocaBum99 regarding this). He has helped many of us start our Blue Green Travels.
