  • RCI Bluegreen Question

When you go through Bluegreen into RCI and select an available resort, can you "select unit" without commitment, or is that the button to charge you points? I was wondering if there was more info. if hit "select unit" on the actual unit, etc.

I was also wondering if anyone knew why Disney's Old Key West 1-bedrooms are listed as max occ. of 4, when they are generally known to be 5? Is it an error on RCI's part, because it only accepts even # occupancies?

    Thanks!

I can answer the first question, which is no this will not charge your points. There are several steps after that, and you still have to pay the exchange fee. There will be a list of steps, and when you go to pay the exchange fee that I believe is the final step.

Hi and welcome to forums. You can hit select unit and you will not be charged. There is a 4 screen confirmation and payment area of exchange fee before u r confirmed.

Old key west is a sleep 4. Disney will let u put a rollaway bed in the unit. It would be misleading to put on the website that it slept 5 as there are only beds for 4 people.

Actually with the recent refurbishment the 1 bedrooms now have the same set up as the AKV Kidani villas with a king bed in the bedroom and
a queen sleeper sofa along with a twin chair sleeper sofa. I think that's the way the refurbs are going to go in the future.
I am not sure if all the units in OKW have finished refurbishment so possibly an RCI exchange would be put in the old sections.
I know when I did an exchange into Vero I got one of the less desirable rooms assigned to me, but when I told them I owned DVC,
then I got upgraded from a ground floor to the top floor, after being told on the phone that it would not happen.

I don't know why RCI doesn't keep the occupancy number up to date, but then their IT is not the best so who knows what else might change if they tried. When we have exchanged into a DVC one bedroom from RCI we have been allowed 5 people on the reservation even at Saratoga Springs where there is no sleeper chair. We just brought an air mattress and extra towels.

I was not aware of this - sorry! AND good to know!

I agree that it should then be listed as a sleep 5, private 4

THANK YOU, I was thinking the exact same thing! What does IT have to do with it??? If the resort either doesn't provide updated info or RCI WEBSITE CONTENT MANAGERS decide to not update the info, IT has nothing to do with it!

Actually, the private #'s are all wrong too (at least the way I understand privacy). A 1-bedroom is private for 2 only. A studio is private for no one. Wouldn't privacy mean a separate room for 2 people only?
