Next RCI Bluegreen question - including RCI/BG cancelation policy

As a multi weeks owner of Bluegreen I do not have online access to RCI so must use my own RCI account and deposit weeks to that account.
This way my weeks get assigned the regular TPU's which could be a plus or a minus depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

As a non-point owner (I think?) your whole bluegreen owner website would be different since you can not reserve at any resorts using points.
Or is your ownership assigned Bluegreen Points?

No. No points. Some people have a blended points/UDI unit. With these BG takes your red week & gives you points.
Apparently it's too confusing for BG to allow owners to book their own weeks with this UDI so we have to call in for all reservations.
Kind of takes the fun out of it but I try to stay on top of it.

Same same. And if you make a reservation with RCI but end up cancelling it, those points would be shown in the chart as "Bluegreen points with RCI." I would assume that, if they were current points when they went into the RCI system they wouldn't "roll over" on your anniversary date, though. Pretty annoying if they do.

Found this info on the BG website - the timing of your cancelation would be important in extending the life of the points.

10. What if I need to cancel my exchange reservation?
Once you book an exchange reservation with RCI, you have a 24 hour grace period window to modify or cancel the reservation with no penalty. Owners must contact the RCI call center at 800.445.0088 to cancel a reservation. Exchange cancellations cannot be made online.
If you cancel your exchange reservation outside of the grace period, the cancellation is processed in accordance with the current RCI cancellation policy. If the cancellation allows for a refund of Points, the Points will stay on your RCI account for a future booking. Please see the schedule below for the percentage of Points that will remain on your account when cancelling your exchange reservation outside the grace period:

120 Days or greater - 100% Points refunded
119 Days to 61 days - 75% Points refunded
60 Days to 30 days - 50% Points refunded
29 Days or less - 25% Points refunded
Those Points will be available for future reservations with RCI for the current use year plus one additional year. This is based on the effective date that your ownership was set up with RCI (begins the month after purchasing Vacation Club ownership).

Yes, it is - and I will confirm with RCI WHAT my effective date is - just to make sure.

edit, checked my 'regular' BG points account - not the one thru the BG portal and this is what it says...

So if I cancel the resie I am thinking of Oct 2, 2013, the points will be good in RCI thru Sept 2015.
Right??? Current use year Oct 1-Sept 30, 2014 plus one year???
