Bluegreen no longer allowing deposit of 'free ,white week' in II - RCI only!
A benefit of being a Premier Bluegreen owner at the Gold and Platinum Level is that you receive a 'free' blue/white week every year. One for Gold, three for Platinum. It is called a "Bluegreen Premier Certificate"
I have been able to deposit my free week the last three years in II and exchange for various Marriott Resorts. I have several friends that have done the same.
When I called last week to reserve a triangulated week and deposit my unit, I was told by the rep that they could no longer see the unit numbers and that all exchanges were now being handled by the 'exchange department'
The trouble began when I said I was going to deposit in II. She said this was not permitted, free weeks must be deposited in RCI. She contacted the exchange dept. and they confirmed the same. I told her I had always done so in the past and when has this changed. She stated this had never been permitted and then I gave her my exchange confirmation number with II.
The end result is that I did not make the reservation because I do not want to deposit with RCI. Has anyone else had this experience?
I am REALLY annoyed by this 'under the table' change and this 'monopoly' by BG/RCI for these weeks.
The week I was reserving would have cost 18,000 BG points with a maint fee of $950+. If I give it to RCI, they will give me 15 TPUs
