Bluegreen no longer allowing deposit of 'free ,white week' in II - RCI only!
A benefit of being a Premier Bluegreen owner at the Gold and Platinum Level is that you receive a 'free' blue/white week every year. One for Gold, three for Platinum. It is called a "Bluegreen Premier Certificate"

I have been able to deposit my free week the last three years in II and exchange for various Marriott Resorts. I have several friends that have done the same.

When I called last week to reserve a triangulated week and deposit my unit, I was told by the rep that they could no longer see the unit numbers and that all exchanges were now being handled by the 'exchange department'
The trouble began when I said I was going to deposit in II. She said this was not permitted, free weeks must be deposited in RCI. She contacted the exchange dept. and they confirmed the same. I told her I had always done so in the past and when has this changed. She stated this had never been permitted and then I gave her my exchange confirmation number with II.

The end result is that I did not make the reservation because I do not want to deposit with RCI. Has anyone else had this experience?

I am REALLY annoyed by this 'under the table' change and this 'monopoly' by BG/RCI for these weeks.

The week I was reserving would have cost 18,000 BG points with a maint fee of $950+. If I give it to RCI, they will give me 15 TPUs

From an earlier thread, thanks for bringing this to my attention Chris.

i could get my free white resie but without the unit number i can not deposit it.

i guess they are taking away my right to deposit my free week into SFX, TPI, DAE and all the other independents as well because they can not see the unit number......

    very aggravating!

any suggestions for taking this up the ladder?

That's annoying, but the thing about all the premiere benefits is that they are "subject to change at any time" -- they aren't part of the contract. Plus they directly impact a very small amount of BG owners, so while I don't think BG would ever go out of their way to change them, if things change internally in some way that messes with them, The Powers That Be are also not very motivated to bother with a fix.

I had great luck exchanging my free white weeks in II for the past several years and I wish that were still at option.

        Time to re-learn RCI.

I wonder what you'd get for the white week

I am guessing that in the past you have been reserving a 3 bedroom white week at somwhere like CMV or Shenandoah. If they are absolutely forcing you to go RCI, and you have not been able to get around that maybe there are other white weeks that will have higher TPU value.

I did one check, and a 2BDRM La Pension, week 35 would be 21 TPU. Week 40 however would be 23 both white season and only 8000 points normally each.

Well I finally got around to calling BG back to book a white week for deposit to RCI as they absolutely will not deposit freebies to II
My reservation period would be from June 1,2013-May30,2014.

Luckily I got a very nice rep named Lucy who worked with me to get a decent week to deposit.
She suggested several resorts and checked availability thru BG while I checked the RCI TPU calculator ....and I was able to finally settle on a May week at Mountain Run at Boyne that will get me 21 TPUs (max 22)

                  BUT

She also told me I could reserve my June 2014-May 2015 week now...Hmmmmm....and after a little checking around, I can do a fall week at Mountain Run for 24 TPUs.

Glad that the majority of BG reps are so helpful, takes the bitter taste of the RCI only policy away.

Regular reservations can still be deposited in II, it is just the 'free' weeks that can not.

I don't think you need a unit number to bank with DAE, do you? If you wanted to that is.

I think the issue would be that when they call BG, they will deny the request from DAE. Good idea, but don't think it will work. Never hurts to give it a shot though.

Anita akparsa tried this with II and it was denied.

It is ONLY the 'free' week that is RCI only - all other weeks can be deposited with II/RCI (depending on affiliation) and the independents. Since BG now has a separate 'exchange department' I assume that when you call to reserve to deposit, the rep reserves a 'triangulated' week (you can not deposit a wed-wed week, must coincide with usual deeded week check-in day) and then passes it along to the exchange dept who does the actual deposit.

I think I will try DAE for France June 2015...thanks for the reminder.

I just checked RCI and there is a new deposit labeled "combined deposit" for 22 TPUs - but the dates are Oct 13 to Oct 15.
Since this was a May 2014 week deposited - it should go out until May 2016.

                          Gotta call BG back.

Spoke to BG who put me thru to the RCI/BG desk.
My deposit showed as 'combined' because in the one day it took for BG to deposit my unit, trade power dropped for 22 to 21 - so to give me my 22, they did a combine.
rep put me on hold, had the supervisor do an over ride - and now, my deposit is good until May 2016

Thank you BG for such good customer service.
