  • Brand New to BG VAcation Club

Thank you BB for opening this channel of communication! I am considering this form of membership through an Orlando Red unit with 9,000 points.

Do these Vacation Club memberships allow you to carry over pts from yr-yr?; is there another fee within the Club for every reservation that is made outside your home unit?

I just noticed that there is an annual club due ($122.48/yr), in addition to a maintenance fee ($440.63), and a FL tax of ($53.13). Does the annual VC fee cover all transactions or does it cost to search and or reserve each time you want to travel using the VC?

Also, what is UDI and can I also earn bonus time?

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge so freely!

Welcome WFAr to our Bluegreen Vacation Club forum. I split off your post into its own thread.

Here are the answers to your questions:

    1) All points are granted on their anniversary date. What that means is that if you anniversary date is March 1 of every year, then on March 1 of 2007, you will be granted a new allotment of points. If you keep those points beyond March 1 of 2008, then your points go into what is called a "saved" state. You can still use them, but they are a more limited form of point in that you can only book Red time and lower valued seasons. You can no longer use them to book high red season which is usually holidays and very high demand / low supply areas.

    2) Your membership fee into Bluegreen which is $115 plus tax or roughly $121.90 allows you to book reservations anywhere in the Bluegreen system subject to availability and reservation rules. There is no charge for making a reservation. There is a cancellation fee unless you are a preferred member.

    3) There is a thread in this forum describing UDIs. Click here to learn more

    4) Today, bonus time comes along with all point memberships. Bluegreen has been saying that they will no longer offer bonus time benefits to resale purchases. But, we haven't had any cases reported where resale purchasers were denied bonus time.

Please feel free to post additional questions and send me email or PM if you like.

Thanks so much for the info! Is there a link to the reservation rules in BG that I could look at before I am a BVC member?

I should post a sticky with all the reservation rules. There isn't one handy anywhere around. They do publish it in the owners documentation they give you. When I get home, I'll try to scan in a copy.

        Here is a quick summary:

        1) 12-months to 11-months in advance of check in, owners get preferential access to the deeded week. Nobody else can get it at that time.

        2) 11-months from check in. All Bluegreen owners have equal access to all available Bluegreen weeks. Must reserve a minimum of 7-night stays.

2a) Gold preferred owners get on waitlist up to 13-months before check in.

2b) Silver preferred owners get on waitlist up to 12-months before check in.

All waitlist requests by preferred owners are processed in the order on which they are listed at the 11 months mark before other owners can call to make reservations.

        3) 5-months from check in. All Bluegreen owners have equal access to all available Bluegreen resorts for partial week stays.

3a) Gold can get on waitlist up to 7-months in advance of check in.

3b) Silver can get on waitlist up to 6-months in advance of check in.

No fees for making reservations. No extra housekeeping fees. There is a $35 cancellation fee unless you are Gold or Silver preferred.
