  • Closed rental listings? How to rent my points

Does anyone know if there is a list of timeshare weeks that have successfully rented? I'm looking to rent points, but am not sure what to reserve (or what to ask). I see plenty of sites with current listings, but I'd think having an idea of what successful listings actually went for would be a huge help.

    Thanks

Funny, my boss asked me today (I just got back from wonderful week in Daytona) where he could rent some points!!

I have had some success with posting on vacation timeshare rentals, and have very rarely made a reservation in advance. So I guess like VA has said I am actually renting points. For those who aren't familiar with the idea of renting points, I just rent by the night at a nightly rate and book with my points. The problem with this is that I get a lot of people asking for dates last minute, and for popular times where there is no availability.

Avoid overcrowded destinations such as Orlando or Vegas. Focus on event weeks for the highest demand. I often recommend Suites at Hershey summer weeks, Shenandoah fall weeks, Daytona Beach events, and Marathon fishing tournaments to our owners as great targeted reservations. When you book something, send me an email or load it to my site and I'll bring you any offers we receive.

One of the things I tell people is to reserve resorts within a days drive from where you are, and book using the local school calendar. Also a couple can use a 2 bedroom but two couples can't use a one bedroom. So I always book 2 Bedrooms to list for rent. Then post your rental everywhere. I even rented one at a yard sale. I just made a poster and laid it out with my other stuff, and sure enough found a renter. Talk to friends, coworkers, and family and ask where they would like to go, then make the reservation for them. Then you don't have to guess what people want.
Just a few tips, I hope that helps.
