Does that make sense? Week 32 in Ireland, week 27 in Provincetown and a floating Desert Oasis. I have unloaded evertthing I didn't like already. My problem is that I always want "more."

The beauty of this ownership is you can get "what you need" when u need it.
Right now I have lots of TPUs so I will only be depositing a few weeks in II.
When my TPUs start to run low, I will deposit what i Need in RCI.
So my costs will be directly related to my needs.
My costs (in my mind only LOL) are
maint fee plus 3 $65 HK fees are $1200 for three Prime 2BR Deposits in II ....weeks deposited more then 6 months out = $400 per week.
That is a reasonable cost for me for a 2BR trader.
I will deposit 1 or 2 45 day Resies in II for $65 each - and use them essentially as an AC without the severe restrictions that now limit the use of ACs - trading 60 days and under for the exchange fee plus $65.
Everything else is gravy!

Actually 4 weeks is really more if you have to pay the special assessment. Then it's more like $650 per week cause the assessment is $1000 per year.
So if you are paying the assessment it makes sense to max this out and get all the TPU's and II deposits you can and dilute your cost per week.
Since I made 18 reservations the first year I averaged $1000 for the MF's, $1000 for the SA and then $1170 in housekeeping fees.
By reserving lots of weeks my average went to $176 a week including paying the special assessment and I haven't even started renting my weeks just yet
which may just make this thing free.
This year I slowed down and made only 12 reservations so my costs per week increased but not by much.
$2000 MF's & SA, plus $780 HK fees which is $231 per week.
I estimate around $250 per week deposited.
For companies that still allow week for week exchanges this is a good deal.
And many of the weeks I reserve for RCI are about 12 to 17 TPU's and what I usually take from RCI is around that too so it's functioning as a week for week
for me in RCI since I am looking at no name resorts for the most part or even the Wyndhams which when booked further out are getting me week for week exchanges.
I've only combined once since taking this on and that was for a Disney resort. All other exchanges have been one for one.
Lovin' my CMV

Chris, I do not count the special assessment as part of the yearly costs.
What you paid is what you paid for the ownership just like any other TS. In your case it was not a purchase price but 3 SA spread out over 24 months plus $250 transfer fee.
My figures are based on yearly use/maintanance fee plus housekeeping fee for the number of weeks that you reserve.

When it's done in two years then I'll just base my costs on the MF's.
I still consider it good value though. And I love that you can ramp it up or down according to your needs.
I see HGVC that way too in a different light. I have my base points and can rent wholesale from the club
what I need that is extra. Kind of like your BG points.
It's also like DVC points to me. The reason they rent so high is because DVC owners do take into consideration their investment cause it's substantial.
Rarely if ever will you see a DVC owner just renting for MF's cause it makes no sense to do so. Better off to use it yourself or bank
the points if you can't go one year. Same with this CMV. If I'm paying all those MF's I am going to be the one benefiting from it and
I surely have. I practically lived at the beach this year. LOL
