  • Deed not valued at current appraisal - Bluegreen

    Hello,

I'm so glad that I took the time to do some research. There is a wealth of information on this forum. I thank each of you for sharing your experiences and knowledge. I have been a satisfied Bluegreen owner since 2003/2004.

This morning I attended an owner update at Mountainloft. During the update my husband and I were told that our current ownership points didn't have any value. Apparently we missed some type of "Public Offering" that took place after the merger. During this PO we would have had the opportunity to upgrade to silver and have our ownership points deeded and therefore have appraised real estate value. Was this some type of sales tactic to get us to upgrade? I must admit that I do have the desire to go to silver but 10K is not in my budget right now.

Our initial purchase was deeded at Solara Surfside, our first upgrade was deeded at the Fountains, and our last one in 2008 was deeded at Harbor Lights? How important is this and is there any truth to what the salesman said about the lack of value?

    Hi and to TS4Ms.

Your current ownership is worth something to you.
Your current ownership IS deeded at the 3 resorts that you mentioned and is considered Real Estate.
Honestly, there is very little resale value in any timeshare - the value is in the vacations you take over the years.

I assume that you bought your points from Bluegreen and that you have a Bronze level ownership. So you have all the bells and whistles/perks that come from buying directly from BG.
If you want more points, consider picking up some points here for free.
We have a member giving away 11,000 points here …. http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...eed-a-New-Home
These 'should' blend with your current ownership - @ $0.0504 per point = $554.50 will be added to your current yearly maint fee.

Thank you so much! I really think that I knew that all along...they talk such a good game. I'm glad I had the sense enough to put them off until tomorrow (probably because he made me mad and scared me at the same time talking about my points...lol). Yes, I am at Bronze and I have no regrets about my timeshare ownership. Thanks for the link to the points, I'll check it out.

Since you already have Travelers Plus and unlimited Bonus Time at all resorts, adding resale points is the way to go.
Enjoy your ownership and the rest of your vacation.
