    This is not new. It has always been the case that the last added resorts use more points. Your purchasing power has not eroded- you can still book what you could always book.

      Yes, you can book what yu 'always' could book but I agree that all the new resorts are coming in at much higher point costs….which makes it even CRAZIER that they still sell people 7,000 EOY contracts!

        I'll use bonus time as that keeps my points in the bank. not at all convenient/reliable for that Must Have trip 6 months from now, but good enough for me.

          Well, that is kinda backing into it, isn't it. As they raise the price per point, and sell those entry level packages, the newbies quickly realize all they can do for a week is book one of the lower end resort. They may actually be backed by 2 nites at a new resort.

          Since (this is an assumption) probably 90% of members have less then 10 - 15K annual points, we are all competing for the same (lower end) pool.

          Thankfully my kids are grown and gone, so I can travel off season.
