If you are deeded certain weeks are you given priority for rental ?? Or do you just have points to use at any resort ? We are silver owners are we given our upgrade right away if we book 12 months ahead ?? Sorry a newbie here I am sure these were covered elsewhere but the searches are confusing me.

I need to ask you a clarifying question regarding your first question. What do you mean by rental? Are your referring to booking a reservation or bonus time or a rental?
In any event, all Bluegreen points are deeded into a specific week and unit number or partial week thereof. Whatever you week(s) are deeded, you get preferential access to that deeded week from 12-months to 11-months in advance of check in. At the 11 month mark, points are points and every one has equal access to make reservations on a first come, first served basis.
If you are a silver or gold owner, you can get on a waitlist 12-months and 13-months in advance of checkin, respectively. But, you're reservation actually does not get booked until the night before the 11-month window opens. In essence, preferred owners are the first to be able to book at the 11 month open reservation period.

I'm not sure what you are asking. If it's a perk of silver then I don't think you get an upgrade on your deeded week, at least not at the time of claiming it. You might later be able to request an upgrade, and there may be timelines to consider.

wilking, we are also silver members and I have never been able to get upgraded. It does not just happen automatically. I'm sure it depends on the season and the resort. For instance, when we stay at Laurel Crest, they have a permanent sign that says, "No upgrades available".
Last year, when we stayed at Pono Kai, I called and called for an upgrade and told there was not a 2 br available. I ended up paying for an upgrade at the resort instead.
Welcome to the world of Bluegreen. We really like the choice of resorts that are available thru Bluegreen. Boca and others will give you lots of great advice on how to optimize your membership.

Here are the Silver member benefits description of unit upgrade:
Unit Upgrade Once a year within 10 days of check-in. Only available on stays of 7 or less nights. Upgrades in the middle of a stay will be assessed a $50 housekeeping fee
If something is available at a resort 10-days from check in, I'll cancel my reservation, save my points and use bonus time instead. It'll be cheaper. Of course, the inventory is different, but it might be available.
To me, this is one of those non-benefit, benefits.
In my opinion, here are the silver benefits that are meaningful:
1) No cancellation fee on reservations.
2) Ability to get on waitlist for full weeks 12-months in advance of check in.
3) Ability to pay maintenance fees with points.
The whole list of benefits is provided as a sticky at the top of this forum.
