QUITE & PEACEFUL!!!! The cabin we were in was a 2 bedroom log cabin, small but absolutely BEAUTIFUL! A king bed in one room a queen in the other, we shared the bath. There were 4 in our party my grandson slept with me, he is 13. The couch and chair looked fairly new. The table in the kitchen had 2 benches and 2 chairs. No way 6 could have had enough room to even set and visit! Was crowded for 4 and we rearranged the t.v. and furniture so we could watch my grandsons videos!

We did not go to any thing in the immediate area except to Walmart, about 15 minutes away, for supplies.

The cabin was in the woods on the back row away from the lake, you walk out the front door and see trees, trees, trees and the back of other cabins or the rooftops of other cabins. The parking pad was shared by another cabin, and we had a 40 foot walk down a path to our cabin, a rough walk for a 67 year old. Most cabins had a paved walk to steps of cabin; we did not. We had squirrels on our deck every morning and enjoyed watching them, they are a lot bigger than our Florida squirrels. We played putt-putt, and horseshoes; both FREE. The laundry, again FREE, was just down the road from our cabin. There was a grill and picnic table on our deck. Bare necessities, but it was a "Cabin" really should have been a bit larger for a 2 bedroom. Our cabins kitchen looked like the one pictured with the "BAIT SHOP'" sign, the outside looked like the cabin pictured with "136" on the front. The cabin was REALLY SMALL, but suited our needs as a home base to Civil war battlefields, and Presidents homes. It would have been toooooooooo crowded if we had stayed there during the day, simply not enough room for 4, no way 6 could have made it! IT WAS QUITE AND PEACEFUL AND THAT WAS GREAT!

This was my first stay at Shenandoah Crossing Resort. I thoroughly enjoyed my week there. My Daghter and I wanted to go on the Skyline Drive and the Parkway, but because of the Government shutdown, could not do this. The resort had a lot of activities that we could enjoy. We enjoyed the evening campfire with roasting smorgs and the sorytelling, with a Historian, who lives in the area. There were a lot of Ghost stories of real sitings in the area over the years. Also lot of information of the wars that Virginia had partisipated in. We also loved the Mountains and the Wateralls.

Town of Gordonsville with shops, restaurants, etc. Great barbeque restaurant in the village as well as the Pomme restaurant in town. A must see is the Stokes wrought iron shop and Graves Gallery. And, of course, several wonderful wineries nearby in beautiful country settings.

This Is our third stay at Shenandoah Crossings Resort.
We love the beautiful mountainside area. Accommodations were perfect, staff extremely friendly and helpful. What's not to like? We plan to visit here many more times.

Location. This resort is near the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and the Skyline Drive, which is a great place for motorcycle enthusiasts like us. The units are primarily log cabins around a lake, the view is beautiful. However, the units themselves are very rustic and need better furniture. We had four people in the unit and were stuck in the unit several days due to rain (as we ride motorcycles and don't ride in the down pouring rain). We had a full kitchen, but it was very small and the layout of it was very awkward. The refrigerator was stuck out almost in the living room.

We visited this resort 3 years ago and had a wonderful time. However, the lodge was closed this time. The lodge was a very beautiful building that contained a fabulous restaurant. Evidently, they had a fire and the lodge is closed while under renovation. That means that there was no nice sit down restaurant on the property. We were so much looking forward to a nice glass of wine and a sumptuous steak after a long day of motorcycle riding. We were looking forward to sitting on the patio/deck and overlooking a gorgeous view of the pasture and rolling hills and lake. None of that was available. The only food available on site is the pizza and subs and sandwiches from the deli market at the store. Very disappointing.

We are RCI Platinum members and we were very disappointed with our unit initially. We had expected a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit (as we had another couple with us). We were put in a much smaller 2 bedroom unit with one bathroom (which was a handicapped bathroom and had no bath tub). Very disappointed. We did speak with Trish Marshall, who is the night manager, and she was VERY nice and moved us to a larger unit after one night. The larger unit was better; however, it still lacked enough sitting furniture. It needed another chair/recliner (which we asked for but never got). It also had terrible cable service. You could not see any of the tv channels...they were all blurry. The service man came; but that actually made it worse. And if you are looking for a dependable internet WIFI service, you can forget it. It's awful. Being stuck in the room on 2 very rainy days would have been bearable if we had decent tv and internet service. Take some DVD's with you....as that is the only way you will get a clear tv picture. Also, there is no laundry facilities in the unit. You have to go to a separate building for the laundry facilities. When we arrived, of the 6 washing machines, only 4 were working; and 2 of them were full of clothes. There were also 2 dryers out of order.
This is a beautiful resort in a beautiful area which we love to visit; but in the 3 years since our last visit....it has gone down hill quite a bit. If I come back to this area, I will stay 35 miles down the road at Massanutten Resort. Much better facilities and units are much nicer.

Well I'm relieved. I don't know what I saw. But nevertheless, I now know(thanks to you) that RCI isn't the only game in town. I noticed in the employment classifieds today that Shenandoah Crossing is doing lots of hiring. So I hope that means people still want to go there. I can't wait to go and ride the horses.

And the yurts look sorta cool.
I'm not big on camping but a yurt I could handle.

I believe "Lawren2" has stayed in the yurt….What unit do you get with the UDI? At CMV, there are UDI ownerships in the Cottages and the Timbers section.

I still haven't completed the transaction, but she told me it's the 2bedroom cabins. The yurt is so cool! They are beautiful and so luxurious on the inside! But, if it rains you will love it or hate it. It's like some people put a tin roof on their house and some don't want to hear that. Just preference.
