  • bluegree announces closing of sales office at La Cabana

Not sure how this will effect La Cabana or Bluegreen owners but they are closing their sales office at La Cabana as announced on Aruba BB and being discussed on La Cabana BB.

Bluegreen announces closing of Sales and Marketing Operations in Aruba -

ARUBA – Craig Robbins, Vice President of National Sales and Marketing for Bluegreen Properties N.V. explained to all of our employees that we have had to make the difficult decision to close the Sales and Marketing operation at LaCabana Beach Resort and Casino in Aruba, which unfortunately affects 42 jobs. All current jobs are being eliminated.

Bluegreen Properties N.V. has been operating a Sales & Marketing operation in Aruba since 1999, focusing on the sale and marketing of timeshare-units in the La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club.

We have approached the Government Mediator and representatives of the union to discuss the current situation. We have also met with the Minister of Labor and informed the Director of the Labor Department. We will continue to stay in touch with the employees and work with them through this difficult transition

Bluegreen Properties N.V. will continue to have a presence in Aruba. We will have 2 Bluegreen Owner Representatives to assist local Bluegreen owners as well those owners that travel to Aruba through their Bluegreen Ownership.

We thank all the employees for their hard work during the years at LaCabana and will always treasure our history and relationships there.

Thanks for posting this Larry, I just read something about it on the Facebook page.
Just like Marriott, not all Bluegreen resorts have sales departments.

I imagine the sales department was not generating enough income. Very Unfortunate for the people who are losing their jobs.
    Doesn't 42 employees sound like a huge operation ???
