7. When I book a reservation on the RCI website, how long will it take for the Points to be deducted from my Bluegreen account?
Points will be deducted from your Bluegreen account within two business days of the day you make your reservation. You will be held responsible for the re-payment of any Points used that exceed your available Bluegreen Point balance.

So MAYBE you will be okay.....it seems to allow you "re-pay" the points.
In your case, you would immediately cancel the fountains Resie to make those points available for the RCI Resie.
Another option I imagine would be to borrow next years points by prepaying the MF.
I had not looked at this scenario before. Live and learn!

Insufficient Points
Sun 20-Dec-2015 to Sun 27-Dec-2015 Max Occup(Privacy):4 (4)Kitchen:Partial Bluegreen Points 12000
The "Insufficient Points" button is dithered and will not let me click on it. So with a manual search, you can not move forward without the points in. Your account.
I have seen this before which is why I made my earlier statement that the points needed to be in your account to do a trade.

Originally posted by Hobbitess View PostMy understanding was that you could do an ongoing search with insufficient points, then when you see RCI has put a hold on something for you, you need to pay ahead to get the points to lock it in. You can't actually reserve until you have the points, and I would guess the hold only lasts so long.
My point is that for an instant exchange, you can NOT confirm unless the points are in your account. It did NOT give me an option to hold the unit, I was stopped in my tracks. So I would have to call BG/RCI desk and ask them to put it on hold for me and then get the points in my account (either by borrowing ahead or canceling a current Resie which is what OP. Is going to do) before I could actually confirm.
So for BG owners, it really is an advantage to put an ongoing search (OGS) request in for any trade....when you do this do not chose "auto-confirm" so that the unit will be put on hold and you can decide what to do.
