  • Should I keep this Bluegreen Developer Purchase?

    Hi,
We just purchased 10k bi annual points for

$12,100 with yearly maintenence fees at 583.00

at laurel crest in Tennessee which included the charter membership. I this a good deal or should we rescind and buy resale? Thank you for any advice.

    Hi Julie,
    Welcome to the forum.

For most people the price paid direct to a developer is not worth the money for the benefits gained by buying direct over resale.
How much did you pay for your timeshare?

You can rescind now and then do your research at your leisure to make sure what you purchased will meet your needs.
10K biennial aren't enough points to do much within the club, so you may have trouble giving this away in the future.

This ownership won't be worth anywhere near what you pay for it in the future. In fact you may have to pay someone
to take it off your hands therefore you may as well consider acquiring resale points for free or nearly free to start with.
Resale points work almost as good as direct points. You can visit almost all the resorts and will get bonus time at your
home resort. You won't have bonus time at all resorts and won't have access to RCI points exchanges but will have
access to RCI weeks exchanges which is where most RCI inventory is deposited anyway.

Personally I would rescind this contract and study a little more about the Bluegreen system.
It's a great system but there are ways to get in much cheaper.

We have a lot of Bluegreen owners here that would be happy to help you buy something cheaper than meets your needs. Hope this helps.

        Hi, Julie,

I'll echo the comments already posted. Rescind, research, buy resale.

We got 12k points resale. Paid just the transfer fee's which was under total $300.00 Sure we don't have some perks, but we get to go on vacation. We just came back from The Fountains and spent 4 nights there in Orlando. One day we plan on upgrading to get the extra perks, but when we do it will be just enough to get the perks and pay cash.
