Yes it is and this is what they told me:Hi Steven! Sorry for the confusion. I thought you were posting this as a response to the mystery video post. That link is to our Rentals Department. Bluegreen has the obligation to generate revenue to offset expenses related to unsold developer inventory by placing inventory up for rent to the general public. A few of our departments besides Rentals also have access to this inventory, Choice Hotels and the Ascend Hotel Collection being two of them. Please understand that the inventory that is offered through these channels is in no way related to your Bluegreen ownership and would not be eligible for use with your Bluegreen Points. It is separate inventory, not part of the Vacation Club (Points) inventory. We sincerely apologize for any confusion regarding this matter. And I hope that answers your question.

How can it be separate inventory in a points based system ?

Because just like with a weeks system, the developer controls their own inventory.

Your points are backed by a deed.
To make it simple, say there were 10 deeds worth 100 points total at The Fountains.
BG has sold 8 of them. BG owns 2 that they can rent out or use in any way they chose to generate income.
And one of the 8 owners decides to use their time in RCI and a second in Select Connections.
BG can chose what inventory to give to these two companies as well, as long as it comes out of owner (not BG) inventory.

So basically they can manipulate the inventory as they see fit.

It is the same reason you can go on Marriott.com and rent TS units. It is developer unsold inventory, and owner inventory that is being used in a non-traditional way.
