We are currently in a waiting game to make sure nothing unexpected happens with our rescind. We have confirmation that it was delivered, but have heard nothing else. Also doing a lot of research here and at TUG.

Bluegreen seems to be a good fit for us.
    1. We live in the southeastern USA and can hit in 1 days drive, SC, NC, TN, GA, and northern FL.
    2. Bluegreen seems to have some of the lowest yearly maintenance fees around, so we like that. We love the dunes resorts (I did a brief review on the one in Myrtle Beach) but wow those diamond points were expensive.
    3. They have resorts we want to go to close by; perhaps not the highest rated resorts, but not bad ones either.
    4. The bonus days hopefully would work great in our area, in the winter (off season I believe) for the quick 3 day weekend stays we like.
    5. It appears that we can get "usable" weeks for us off pinnacle and eBay/tug
I do have a couple of more questions; p

Pinnacle has several biennial weeks, with charter benefits, up for sale. On these are the maintenance fees yearly or every other? Do you keep charter benefits on the "off" year?

Our current plan is to get something off pinnacle with charter benefits, if it is biennial and useful to us (say 6000-9000 points) then we would add 1 other biennial for the other year with same number of points roughly. We are looking to stay at or under $1000 per year in fees. If that didn’t work then a small annual package off pinnacle and 1 (annual) or 2 (biennial opposite years) with weeks and locations we like.

I have to run, but thank you all again.

P.S. Grayfal … why can I not get to your travel website?
I have 2 biannual contracts mixed with 1 annual, and it works out well. We get 1 bill in Nov for all the points. You basically pay the base + 1/2 the points * point rate. For instance, I have one contract that is 20K biannnual, so each nov, this adds ~500$ to my maint fees. The true formula that BG uses is you pay 1/2 point rate for all points, but in my mind, its easier to use 1/2 the points and the full rate.

To stay around $1000 in fee's with the base fee and the current price per point, you could have about 28K in biannual points in total (325 + 14000*.05).

if you mix biannual with annual, for every point in annual, you need to take 2 biannual points away to keep maint fee's the same.

Well even thou we rescinded, our credit card got charged. So i guess we will wait a couple of days to see if it gets reversed, then file a dispute with it.

Call your CC today to dispute the charge. Let them know you canceled the contract in the required timeframe and that you have the paperwork to support it.
No sense waiting until close to the billing date to do this.

I am curious, in relationship to your purchase date, what is the date of the charge? Before or after the 5th business day?

          Hooray!

Got home after reading your message Greyfal. Logged in to get the information. They charged us the day after we were there. However they credited the amount back last night. So we are good to go finding resale properties now!

Again I thank all of you. You saved us a lot of cash. Wife and I are going to check the web for resales that will work for us.

I am happy to hear this. My experience with BG is that they are a great company to deal with. Glad it has worked out.

I see on Ebay and TUG people say bluegreen takes 6-9 months to close fully. Not a big deal as we are not in a huge hurry. But that would be spring next year if we started now. However that would be late to try and book a vacation.
We are looking on pinnacle as well (to get charter benefits), and have requested information. Is the closing faster from pinnacle? Is the price on pinnacle what you pay, or are they further fees from them?

With eBay, the delay in closing is usually related to the eBay company, not Bluegreen.

And if you buy from an individual, you can use the company below rather then BG directly as they do not have any incentive to close the contract quickly.
(And I normally see 6-9 month closings with Wyndham, not BG)

There are only two authorized closers for Bluegreen, so if you buy in eBay, they do the closings.
The one I have always used is Sterling Title Partners in Boca Raton, FL.
Kris Koski. She charges the same $450 that you would pay if dealing directly with BG and she gets the title closed in 4-6 weeks. BG has a 30 day ROFR that slows down the process.
And I just bought a resale contract thru Pinnacle - because they are the authorized reseller for BG, you do not have to wait for the ROFR, it is waived.

The prices you see on Pinnacle are asking prices. For a contract with Charter Benefits, you MUST pay $1.25 per point plus they charge $700 closing.
If you are buying a contract without benefits, you can offer whatever you like. But there is a $700 closing fee in top of the purchase price. You could negotiate that you split the closing fee with the seller or the seller pays the closing fee.

Well we are working on a 3000 point purchase thru pinnacle right now to get us into the club. After much review here and on TUG I generated a list of ebay sellers I would trust and showed the wife. Took her less than a day to win an auction on ebay, for a penny with seller paying all fees. So we will now have more points, at less than 1/3 of the cost of buying from bluegreen.

                    Thank you all!

You need to close FIRST on your Pinnacle points and then The resale points so Drag your feet a bit on that one from eBay.....
Want to set up your qualified points contract first and then add the resale to that membership.
